Could the Lieutenant Police Officer killed in Fox Lake, Illinois of U.S. have killed himself?
The coroner said he was shot at close range, by one bullet (although probably shot by 2 bullets), downward, behind his bullet proof vest. He said he was going after three men: two whites and one black. Five minutes later, he was found dead when his co-officers got there and his gun was along side him.
First question, had his gun been fired, if so how many bullets? Second, was there only his DNA on the gun? Did he have a history of mental problems? Were there other factors in his life which may have caused him to take his own life?
I think you need to supply more details before we go any further.
They are holding back too much info because there's no evidence of others involved. There's only speculation. It'll all come out.
Well it turns out it was suicide. He had been stealing from a police programme for years and thought, rightly, that they were onto him.

Anything is probable, however all scenarios need to be considered and investigated before coming to any conclusions.
I see no reason at all to think that. It would be pretty weird of anyone wishing to die to do it during a chase and if it was his wish then he would have let the felons kill him seems to me and probably would have left the bullet proof vest at home.
He was just very unfortunate taking as much care as he could and soon we will be very lucky to have the majority of good men that we do have in law enforcement if this continues. (There are a few bad apples in everything.) The US is headed for martial law which I think is exactly what our government wants so they can take our guns and our rights and we will have cameras and guns pointed at us everywhere we go. I do see change coming and it is not going to be good I fear.
This is highly unlikely; this military veteran and lieutenant was an extraordinary soul who was selfless. He dedicated hundreds of thousands of hours into improving the Fox Lake community, the Illinois Law Enforcement Explorers and the National Law Enforcement Explorers. Were you aware that he planned to retire last month, Yes I texted last month! However the police chief asked him to stay one more month to help out.
The day before his death, Gliniewicz met with Mayor Donny Schmit to discuss his retirement plans and to make sure the Explorers program continued without him.
"His commitment to the people of this community has been unmatched and will be dearly missed," the mayor said Tuesday. "Not only did Fox Lake lose a family member, I lost a very dear friend." I am positive once more significant information is released; you will understand it is indeed an act of brutal murder...
Well John, I am deeply saddened. It has been three weeks since Joe has been gone and there is no trace known of any suspects. At first, I thought if there were suspects then they'd be caught soon but why wouldn't he have waited for back up?
He was in pursuit; procedure dictates you do not wait...
Stay tuned to the news. The truth will come out very, very shortly!
