If the taste and smell of the tap water in Orlando Florida is bad, my first notion is that this is the fault of the water treatment system. The cleanest, freshest water I have seen outside of a clear mountain spring is that begin in California during the 1990s, as shown in a television documentary. read more
Water comes from a variety of sources and, based on the geographic location of the source, has a different level of mineral content then other locations. Water treatment facilities only remove harmful toxins, but the minerals stay! Everyone's water smells and tastes different then everyone else's water because it isn't what the person is used to.
Orlando is very close to sea level and their area of the country has a high content of sulfur in their water, which isn't at all harmful, just smelly. Sulfur smells and tastes a little bit like rotten eggs, so the tap water has this smell and taste to it. It is MUCH more noticeable to people who come from areas of the country where their water has a much lower level of sulfur in their water.
