How come we are sexual creatures yet we seem to view sex as immoral and impure?
There have been some couple of times that I see questions posted here in regards to sex immoralities, like sex is as fault for perversions... what say you? Is sex in itself impure, obscene, obscure and perverted? If so, how come human nature tends to gravitate towards it so badly?
Jealous puritans, controlled by monetary compensation, compassion missed by a moment, greeted only by greed.
There seems to a ideological split between those who acknowledge the sexual revolution that started forty or so years ago (where sex is seen as a factor of life to be celebrated - or at least appreciated!) and those whose traditional values blind them from the reality of the 21st century.
Humans are compelled by a biological need to reproduce and procreate. Unfortunately, most people listen to religious zealots who would have them combat these urges their entire lives according to some fairy tale dogma. It has become imbedded in American culture. You will not find such blatant ignorance of sexual discourse in European countries like the Netherlands. Which is also why they don't have the teen pregnancy and STD problems that plague America.
“The people who are regarded as moral luminaries are those who forego ordinary pleasures themselves and find compensation in interfering with the pleasures of others.” -Bertrand Russell
