Do You Have A Dream That Repeats?

I have one that is odd and although its about Christmas it never happens around Christmas time. In the dream I'm usually very stressed because I've forgotten either to buy someone a present for their Christmas or more usually I've left it too late to wrap the Christmas presents up!  So I'm in a frenzied rush to try and get them all wrapped up before time runs out. This is the exact opposite to what I'm like in reality as I'm always very organised - much to the irritation of family and friends! LOL!

Not a particular dream but rather a theme that repeats. I am trying to get home, it is late and I am concerned my family will be worried. I either try to call and all the phones don't work or are old fashioned dial phones with numbers missing.

or all I have to do is one more thing before I can get in my car and go home and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get that one thing done.

I have various ongoing dreams, some from roughly 25 years ago when I was still a kid.  When they're happening I know I've been there many times before, and what's odd is whatever the reason for being there, it's never solved. smile

I have two repeating dreams, both of which I have had for as long as I can remember.

In the first one I am on an old 4 masted sail boat. There is a terrible storm and the ships runs aground on rocks, I feel myself falling into the water, can feel the icy shock and taste the salt in my mouth. Then I slip under and all becomes black...at which point I wake up.

In the second one I am in a bizarre cubist world of strange shapes and everything is grey, no colour, and I am microscopic. Everything towers above me and feels like it is closing in on me...and it feels like a maze, with me constantly trying to find the way out.

I've had both for years. And both come at odd times, not say when I feel stressed or worried...they just happen when they want to.

There are a few dreams that I have, but I have trouble recalling them unless I've recently had them.  I've dreamt of houses repeatedly, ones that are the same in the dream but I can't quite recall them after a few moments.
When I'm especially stressed out, or there are some emotionally trying things going on, I often dream of pets I used to have.  I'll reach that half state of sleep, and start to turn over very cautiously with the thought that one of them is sleeping at my feet.  Not exactly the 'same' dream, but the same essence is there.

Yes. However, its not a good dream. I don't know why but I can never hold onto the good ones.

I used to have a repeating dream that I was in the back of the class and had failed my high school exams. I actually passed the exams but the dream did not go away for a while

Hi guys that have responded - just to let you all know that I haven't marked down any of your responses, I've actually 'plussed them all' as they are very good. Don't know who the smarty pants is that marked a lot of you down, but just to let you know, I wouldn't be so rude!

Over the years, I've had 4-5 dreams in which I'm flying. The actual mode of flight has changed every time, but they have all been extremely vivid and visceral, and I never wanted them to end. I love these dreams.

It seems that you love your family too much that you don't want anything to go wrong. So, you are worried about it and think too much about it. Its Ok. LOL!
Merry Christmas to you and your Family. :-)

I have had dreams that I realize while I'm dreaming that I've had them before, although I usually can't remember the details after I wake up. Sometimes it's not a repeat of a previous dream, but I've been there before in another dream.

I now do not have any dreams which repeat, as now I have made my thoughts and desires simpler, and so the things which were part of my dreams are now converted into possible dreams fulfilled.....Regards

So far, none of my dreams repeat.  There is one dream I wish that would repeat.  It's the dream I had recently about The Flamingo Lady.  I dreamed about the Flamingo Lady after another dream I had about The Gay Senator -- within a few nights of each other.

I wrote a hub about both, and interesting enough, my dream about The Flamingo Lady, to date, is one of my most popular hubs.  This was unexpected because I was simply sharing my enigmatic dream, hoping for answers.

The first few days after the dream I kept wishing the dream would return, even thinking deeply about The Flaminigo Lady before I went to sleep.

I've now accepted the fact that this beautiful dream I had of The Flamingo Lady probably will not repeat.

    Thanks for your great question!

when I was younger, I had a dream that repeated at least a couple of times a year for several years......then I spoke to my mother and she said it really happened as a very young child and proceeded to fill in the gaps of the dream....after that I never had the dream again!

Having dreams over and over again shows you've missed something important. Reoccurring dreams, whether nice or nightmares, reflect a dreamer's feelings, thoughts, unconscious, and unfinished business. read more

I have had many dreams that repeated over the years. I put together an informative article, including how I broke some of them.
