Desire to improve the mind and body physically as well as emotionally. In addition physical activity is a great illustration of how hard work and discipline pay off in a future.

I always use my workouts to break free of reality for a while and to push myself physically.

Besides the fact of just loving to workout and the way it makes my body look and me feel, it relieves a lot of stress/tension. And as Glasso said, always trying to improve physically.

I like the physical and mental results I get from working out. Working out helps you in so many ways, and it also gives you a chance to set positive goals to reach.

    1. My daughter - she is very "into" fitness and she often comes down to workout with me.
    2. Enjoyment and feeling good
    3. I just LOVE the looks on people's faces when I carry shopping bags or lift something they think is too heavy or carry a grandchild on my back in a haversack and especially the looks when I run past them with silver hair flowing free! LOL
    4. Being able to run and keep up with my grandchildren, though the eldest one will soon be able to run faster than me - but that's as it should be.
    5. Being able to carry my youngest grandchildren up and down stairs when necessary and being able to lift the eldest one if necessary.

Motivation for me is based on:

    1. The pure feeling of physical movement. Just enjoyable at first. Then  going through the different stages of the process: warming up, sweating, getting the heart beat up, the awareness heightened. That feeling of being cleansed and fresh after a workout shower.
    2. Being a role model for my two sons, and keeping up appearances!
    3. Getting out and about in the great outdoors when running/walking.
    4. Preparation. When I go up into the mountains I need to be fit and supple. A regular workout helps keep the body and mind in good shape.
    5. A history of keeping fit through natural means, like running, climbing trees, hill walking, mountain trekking, walking, playing all kinds of ball sports.

When I workout I think about that moment when someone notices your hard work.
