If you have any children on your list, knitted animals are always loved and treasured.

My parents did not have much money when we were growing up.  One christmas my mother gave us knitted animals that she had made and stuffed herself for our main gifts.

I got a mother kangaroo with a small baby that could be played with seperately or kept in her mother's pouch.  I played with that kangaroo for hours on end - I just loved it.  Of course, part of the reason that I loved it so was because my mother had made it especially for me.

I am 56 years old now and I still have fond memories of my mother and baby kangaroo.  In my mind, you can't go wrong with knitted animals.

Holidays are always busy so I start making my knitted and crocheted specialty blankets, ponchos, afghans, hats, and scarfs in July. They are well received and asked for year after year.

    Have you visited AllFreeChristmasCrafts.com (http://www.allfreechristmascrafts.com/)?

There are tons of knitted crafts to try.  My favorite knitted craft is the Christmas Tree Bears (http://www.allfreechristmascrafts.com/K … Tree-Bears).

You can give it to friends and family and they can hang it on their tree or any old hook during the rest of the year.
