thanksgiving is most definitely my favorite holiday because we strongly focus on being thankful. in my opinion, christmas has become so commercialized, and it seems to driven by greed...people are so exhausted and rude in the stores around this time i often think - why bother? unfortunately, i think the real meaning of christmas gets lost in the stuff to buy and the money to be made.

Thank you tiffany deliter for your comment.  I totally agree Christmas is not about Jesus anymore - that is why this world is messed up - we've lost touch of who we are and whose we are

I really like both it is hard to pick.  I'm leaning toward thanksgiving a little bit.  Christmas has become so commericalised with all the focus on presents, that I enjoy the low-key relaxing aspects of Thanksgiving.  Plus I LOVE all the thanksgiving foods! Especially stuffing smile

Thanks ElleBee for your comment - yeah I think Thanksgiving Dinner is a little bigger than Christmas - unfortunately during Christmas the season of giving is not about the right type of giving!

Thanksgiving is my favorite. It's not materialistic, there is no constant themed music, and it's all about family & friends getting together to celebrate their blessings. Plus it doesn't hurt to have an annual 4 day weekend!
Christmas on the other hand is mostly about retailers making money in this day and age. In fact many of the stores start putting out their Christmas decorations before Halloween arrives! One TV commercial after another suggests gifts to buy. Christmas is most important to children in my opinion. (Santa Claus, Christmas trees, toys/gifts bright colorful lights..) Not many people emphasize the birth of christ aspect in their homes these days.

Thanks dashingscorpio - Thanksgiving is really about what the name says - giving thanks - we focus on the things that matter - enjoying life with family and friends - laugh, talk about old times, eat some good food, take a nap, and everyone is happy.
