   I have to make a marketing plan, According to plan, target my customers, post about this book on my social networking account, various forums relate to the topic of book, write a article and post on various article directories, email to subscribers.

   I've never self-published, but I suspect the marketing would function very similarly to HubPages. Revenue is based entirely on how well you can get your work out there. Social networking websites and forums are a good place to start. Visiting any writing/reading events open to the public is a good idea as well. I think some libraries don't allow self published books on their shelves, but if you could find used book outlets that would take several copies to sell, it would help get your name out there.

   I've not self-published either but have read or heard what others have done and one things that stand out in my mind is the fact they they started a website and sold the book from there.  Also, I think Amazon might have a way to market and sell.  Secure speaking engagement...anything local like Kiwansis, local non-profit, etc.  talk about your book and have a table set up where it can be purchased... you may have to get permission to do that, what about ebay, etc.

   Lots of people only use Kindle now so having that option is a great way to sell more books.  I am interested in self publishing but on the fence about going through with it.

   The publishing part isn't all that difficult. There are lots of options out there to get it done. The tough part comes AFTER you get it done. As with most creative endeavors, there is the art and there is the "business". At that end (business) the most challenging is marketing the book. It's up to YOU to get the word out and sell the book. I guess it just depends on how good you are at that kind of stuff. It can be both exciting and daunting. But either way, it beats letting the book sit on your shelf where no one will ever read it!
