Hello everyone are we ready for an exciting month? We are finishing April with a successful Fifa World Cup Hubmob weekly topic and we are ready to start a new month and team up with the Eat, Drink, and Be Hubbalicious Contest, beginning on Tuesday, June 1st.
Like every week we are going to follow the same rules for the HubMob except that those of you who qualify and want to participate in the contest will need to post your hubs within a very strict time frame. Every eligible Hub, published on the right topic, categorized correctly and published within the given time frame, will be automatically eligible for the contest.
If you want to enter your HubMob Hub in the contest please read carefully the Contest Rules.
If you don't qualify for the contest, nothing changes for you; you just follow the steps below like any other week.
This week set subtopics for the contest include:
Beans and Pulses or Rice and Grains
Cheese & Dairy
Herbs and Spices or Extracts and Flavouring
Meat and Poultry or Seafood
Fruits or Vegetables
Baking Supplies or Doughs and Crusts or Leaveners and Yeast
Condiments or Vinegars or Oils & Shortenings
You must write information about the above subtopics. Do not write recipes as we will have another week for recipes only. This time you are asked to write only about ingredients: storage, nutritional value, where to find them, how to choose them, what they are used for, etc.
Remember that if you are taking part in the contest you MUST post your hub on the specific day for the subtopic you are writing for.
To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:
1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK. Choose the Answer the Request green button. Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.
2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"
3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/question/53114/hubm … ew&rss For more information on how to add the RSS feed to your hub you can click here
4. Add one of the HubMob graphics to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.
or
http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/vv19 … F4-800.png
5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why. Take advantage of the free publicity!
If you are still not sure about what is a HubMob and the benefits of taking part in one I created this guide http://hubpages.com/hub/What-is-a-HubMo … o-join-one please feel free to come up with any questions if you have any doubts left.
Good day Ms Princessa! This will be a good month! if I have entry for the contest I will also join HUBMOB,
Thanks, you are always enthusiastic and helpful!
You are always a great contributor to the Weekly HubMob prettydarkhorse, good luck with the contest

http://hubpages.com/question/53114/hubm … ew&rss
just a small point, have we not just finished May?
ups! I guess I am a month behind... sorry about that
I chose to write initially about pulses and beans.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Dried-Beans-One … iest-Foods
This hub is about the nourishment of beans including general facts about reasons to increase you bean intake, the best way to store beans and how they prevent diseases. Also, I listed the states where most beans are grown.
I also wrote about pulses, the differences between beans and pulses, about how nourishing they are and way to store them.
http://hubpages.com/hub/pulses-legumes-to-chickpea I hope everyone can learn something from these hubs and enjoy them.
Just finished my first on for this contest. I need to figure out how to join HubMob.

Hi Ms Sandy, you can follow the instructions of Ms Princessa -- the first post in this forum thread -- and start your hub by answering the link provided by Ms Princessa. In that way your hub is included in the HUBMOB as well as the contest.
Dont hesitate to ask if you have any more questions and probs.
Thanks pdh!
Sandy you can also check out Princessa's hubs on HubMob:

Thanks. It looks like I messed up for this week. I am keeping the RSS for the hubbers who add to HubMob in my first recipe hub. I think I will join the contest another time. But I hope to find some hubbers visiting my recipe hubs.
I published a hub but did it from the contest page instead, so I think I'm not eligible. I thought to be eligible for the contest you had to do it from the contest page . . . or am I totally confused?
http://hubpages.com/hub/Wild-Rice
Don't worry I did the same thing , I believe Princessa can fix it well I hope so
No, so sorry, Princessa cannot fix anything.
If you want your hub to be both HubMob and Contest, you need to start from Princessa’s link on her initial post each week of the contest. Princessa has preselected the weekly topic, in this case, Cooking Ingredients. You must select the appropriate daily topic, and not publish until noon or after California time. Jason pulls eligibles from the hubs published on the daily topic, published in the 24 hour time frame. He has answered this question in his thread.
I suggest you regularly read Jason’s contest thread, as well as this one. You will most likely find the answers to all of your questions.

Well, I have no problem admitting I am a newbie to HP, so I hope I did this one right: http://hubpages.com/hub/Chickpeas.
Well it looks like I have blown it. I have a weeks worth started with the links from the contest page. I thought that is the way to enter the contest. No wonder I am not in the HubMob.
I'm not going to redo those. I guest I am out of the loop.
You don't have to be in the Hubmob to be in the food contest.
Hi! I am also a newbie here in HP (just joined a few weeks ago). And just like classical geek, I'm also not exactly sure if I joined the contest right or not but I tried to post my 1st hub about lentils for this month thru the contest page.
So if I don't need to be in the Hubmob to be in the hubbalicious contest (as what habee said), then I probably did my entry right. Still, I'm not so sure. Anyone help pls?
Hi, It is good if you can join the HUBMOB and contest at the same time! You can do this by just following the instructions here in the first post by Ms Princessa in this forum thread, be sure to properly categorize your hub and submit it in the time frame as stated in the contest page http://hubpages.com/topics/food/1491/
I check the RSS feed for the HUBMOB and you are not included, you're right!
HUBMOB Rss feed -- http://hubpages.com/question/53114/hubm … ew&rss -- you can also answer the question in this link -- answer it by making a hub --
dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions again,
Good luck!
I joined the HUBMOB! Now on to figure out the rest of the directions for the contest hub. lol. I will submit soon. I hope to learn much from all of you very experienced Hubbers. Having a lot of fun reading your hubs. Making me hungry...
And one more: http://hubpages.com/hub/the-lentil (I hope I did these right, may have to fix them tomorrow if they are not right).
Here's one for today -- not quite complete as I have to leave for work, but it will be finished later this afternoon.

Looks like an exciting month! Will enter every opportunity I can find! TV ratings will have to take a back seat!
Thanks Princessa,
Will enjoy being part of the hubmob while contesting!

Barry the contest starts at noon California time Tuesday. To be contest eligible, hubs have to be published within the time frames of the contest.
barry, I think there will be a clock posted for everyone to figure out their times to publish.
during the last contest I downloaded the firefox world clock add-on and it can be customized for whatever country, time zone you need. it's at the bottom of the screen, so I can glace and see what time it is in CA, and other places I choose. I even have australia, and it's Tues. 12:35 p.m. now in S. Australia, yes?
what a beautiful graphic!
I will be writing this week along with an entry into the contest.
My hubmob entry (and the first one for the contest)
Best Foods and Cooking Ingredients for the Five Seasons
This will not be a contest hub. The contest starts in a little over 12 hours, with the subtopic being beans, or rices & grains.
Here is the contest page:
http://hubpages.com/topics/food/1491
Also, see Princessa's initial post on this thread.
Oh...these timing things are really confusing!! .. Its already June 1st afternoon here, when I submitted. Anyways! Still this is a part of hubmob!
I agree, the timing is confusing. It's a little easier here in the U.S. I know that my contest day runs 2 pm to 1:59 pm the next day. Last time there was a single contest forum thread, but HP staff announced each day, 'the new topic started about 40 min ago', or something similar. This time, there will be a new thread each day, launched at noon (California time, US Pacific time), with the clue of the day. You could follow Jason's forum posts to make sure you are not launching prematurely.
As long as you start your hubs from Princessa's forum link, you will be in the HubMob RSS feed. I work from the RSS when I do the roundup hub.
Thanks rmcrayne for the info!!... I saw Jason's post on the countdown timer. I guess that will give a pretty good idea about, when and till what time can we post the hubs.
Thanks.Eventhough am an old member participating here actively from last month onwards. So I am eagerly waiting for this contest to start.
I'm glad that the Hubmob's topic is the same with the contest, because I don't think I can write 5 hubs in 24 hours But maybe I can try for another day's topic.
But anyway, this is my contribution for the hub mob :
http://hubpages.com/hub/Brown-Rice-Health-Benefits
Day 1 Topic, Beans or Rice & Grains, starts in about 90 minutes. Check the clock for noon California time.

Why I chose to write about Garbanzo beans is that all my life had chickpeas as part of my diet but never knew they were called garbanzo beans untill I read them on the bean sections of the grocery during my stay abroad. So dedicating this to old wine in new bottle, I guess.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Garbanzo-Beans-or-Chickpeas.
Here's my first hub entry, I just wrote a hub about the cooking ingredient fava beans. I eat beans daily and feel their an important part of a good diet.

I wrote a guide to dried beans:

This is my first hub for this month's hubmob contest. It is about an ingredient mostly used for cooking in the Indian subcontinent.
Although Turmeric is used as an ingredient for cooking, it has enormous herbal qualities of prevention and curing diseases. It is also used as natural cosmetics by Indian women. Here is the link:

cupid, Looks like you started your hub from Princessa's link, because your hub is in the HubMob RSS, so you are in the HubMob. You need to add the HubMob graphic and a HubMob RSS capsule to your hub. See Princessa's hub on the graphic and RSS:
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Write-a-HubMob-Hub
Although you categorized your hub correctly, you are not contest eligible as this topic does not start until Thursday, noon California time, over 24 hours away.
http://hubpages.com/topics/food/1491
Please read the post of Princessa at the top where step by step guidance is given.
I've already done and it is now displayed on the page.
Thanks.
If you want to enter the contest, you only have to categorize it correctly and publish it in the right time window.
Everything is done automatically. The HubPages team have a program that pulls up all the Hubs published in the right category at the right time.
Today's subtopic is Cheese & Dairy, for those who are entering their HubMobs in the Contest, you can post your Hubs on Cheese & diary now and for the next 22 hours.

21, I appreciate the help, but you're speaking Greek to me! lol
I'm a little confused. Was I supposed to "join the hubmob" somewhere?
All I did was start my hub from the link provided in the OP of this thread, and add the graphics and the RSS feed.
Was I supposed to do something else?
When you start your hub from Princessa's link, you have joined the HubMob. Most HubMobster come back to the forum and post a link to their hub. I pull from the RSS to do the roundup hub, so even if you don't post in the forum, you will still be in the roundup.

My first for the contest. I just managed to register for Paypal yesterday so I'm all smiles. Thanks for great topics!
I loooovvveee garlic, so I wrote about some of the common varieties that people can use in their cooking. I listed these varieties from very mild to strong, so people get an idea of where to start trying them. If you've only ever tried elephant garlic (which isn't really a true garlic), check this out:

OK Here's my entry - think I've still got half an hour left?
http://hubpages.com/hub/Healthy-Food-Choices-Oats
HubMobsters, I have an appointment today and have to leave in less than an hour. Can someone pick up some of the questions? Welcome the new Mobsters and check that they are in the RSS, have the HM graphic and RSS capsule? Clarify about the contest?
I wrote a hub about flaxseed because it is so good for you and it is especially important for vegetarians.
