Society is run by old men...

And there is nothing that men whom are old hate more than men who are young...

    But youth existed before age...

Therefore youth is older than age...

Therefore youth is wiser than age...

Some people, were just born old...

...well for us boomers it was, "don't trust anyone over thirty." It gave us a sense of power and identity…now, I regret not listening to that very wise
good-hearted generation. But, we had a lot of negativity to fight against too.
Now, what do young adults have to fight against? nothing much ... maybe our arrogance and maybe the fact that society has gone overboard in rebelling against everything and anything!!
If they are fighting politically against the old hippies who happen to still be in office as career politicians, that is good.

If he is in his 20's I doubt he even knows what a hippie is... it is more likely the money makers on wall street that vex him? Who knows... maybe we will never know.

So, he was born in the middle of the 90's. It must be so confusing to be born into this world now. When I was a kid in the 60's everything made sense. After '69 things got weird...after we set foot on the moon.

So , what's been lost is the hand off of wisdom , maturity , and  knowledge. Is it because the elders failed or because youth in all it's greatest idealisms - no longer listens ?  Me thinks its youth 's fault !

    Grey hair
    need not bring envy
    given a little respect
    for lessons learned
and the ability to pass them on
    yet even in this.
    there is ever the new
    the quick moving flow
towards the lake of the future
grey hairs cannot keep up with that current
and are often caught in the under toe
    Every time you think
that age is given too much ado
    consider jumping into the breaches
    they can handle
    and see which you prefer
the river you flow with gladly
    or the one that requires
    more tact and wisdom
    than deftness in keystrokes.
    If you chose the latter
    bully for you
    chances are you wont though
and then you have naught to disparage
    but yourself.
