What is your favorite quote? Mine is: "What doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger"!
Mine is "Some men see things as they are and ask why.....I dream things that never were and ask why not?"
One of mine is, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts." It goes well with, "The thing about truth is that it never changes."
I like this. It's like when people want to prove to religious people that God doesn't exists and same as when they try to prove to them that he does and that they should believe in him. People mix faith with clamming a lot.
To me it means: you can have your own opinion, but you shouldn't try to convince everybody else to agree with you.
In general when there is a problem my quote/thoughts are 'we start from here'
My other quote/thoughts are 'there but for the grace of god go I' Some people think less of others in many ways, we should all remember we are who we are by accident of birth.
Graham.
My favourite quote is "I'm not a cougar! I'm a jaguar!" - It just gives me a giggle, though I've never used that quote personally!
My favorite quote is the "Golden Rule," the simplied version, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. It' is also called the rule of reciprocity. I believe if more people follow this quote/rule, the world will be a little nicer, but that's a different discussion.
I'm not sure what my favorite quote is, but I'll give you an example of a motto that I came up with while spending almost all of my summer in the hospital. It goes like this: "This too shall pass". By it I mean, whenever you have to deal with something, don't back away, everything will pass and you will forget about it later.
"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds"
~Albert Einstein
"You can avoid reality but you can't avoid the consequences of avoiding reality." Ayn Rand
I have no idea where I read or heard this and when, although I know it is not of mine.
"That which is, is. That which is not, may be."
I recently read it somewhere, but I don't remember where: "There is a distinction between what a writer writes, and what a reader reads." I fell in love with this quote! It's so true! However, we so often forget, that everybody looks at the world differently, and the same applies to our stories/articles/poems. Readers may find them unexpected, interesting, or... Boring!
"Success is made of sterner stuff than mere potential."
I guess it's to remind those who are naturally gifted or talented that they still have to work hard to achieve their goals.
