Hi Folks,i am quite new to Hubpage but so far so good bcos i find it quite interesting here,i don't actually know if most folks know of my existence but here i am.
I am Rossi Mobis and i am so pleased to be here so common guys help me out.
I have quite a collection of poems, songs and short stories in my wallet, carefully written by me and most were inspired by my everyday life event and the environment. As a matter of fact, i don't know how to make this work but i want to get some of my stories and others works together in one hard cover so is it possible to have about ten short stories, couple of poems, songs and one two other notes about any issue published in one booklet?
Will this be a kind of magazine, story book or inspirational book?
How do i go about this?
I will be glad if someone find it pleasing to help me out.A piece of my poem is right here below.
SAVIOR.
Daddy told me a story of the prodigal son
He also told me a story of David
One day, Mummy told me about king Solomon
In school, our teacher told us the story of Sampson
I heard about Jesus from the preacher
Their stories were so sweet that i always want to hear one.
One day i had a dream and was terrified
I was a little boy learning from my elders
But in my dream,i saw a man gladdened on white regalia
He had blood stains all over him and people were mocking him
He looked weak and sober
He looked thirsty and helpless
He was crying a big cross
I stood from afar and watched the crowd despise him
They were beating, spiting and hitting him
Some were throwing dirt at him
I felt sorry for him but could not help him
They got near a mountain and stopped
Everyone was chanting down at him
Then someone threw a spear at him
I felt the pain in my heart so i cried for this man
They nailed him to the cross and left him to die
I looked up and saw the blue sky turn Grey
The sun slipped away and it became cloudy
I wished i could save or help this man
So i knelt down and prayed to God
Because i remembered all the stories i heard
Then i saw a shinning face that looked like that of a man
I could not look at it because it was very bright
There was a crown on his head so i thought it was GOD
Help this man i pleaded but this image i saw which was God like
Turned away
Abandoned me
Tears in Heaven
Tears of the Angels
I watched this man die so i woke up terrified
I told Daddy my dream
I told mummy my dream
I told teacher my dream
I told the preacher my dream
It became my story
They all told me that it was the Savior and he died for me.
He gave his all that i might wake and tell my story
He died that i might live to write this today
He rose from death that i might be free from bondage
He gave his all and carried the cross for my salvation
He suffered for you and me
I saw the Savior
He died for you and me
He gave his all that we will be saved
Praise be to God our God.
Amen.
Hi, I write poetry and short stories often too and have wondered the same thing. There are sites that list publishers and you can visit their sites and email them some of your work etc. and they'll probably let you know if they are interested in you. I heard that Amazon has a publishing feature? But I couldn't confirm that. I'm hoping to get at least a reasonable number of people to know who I am before I attempt publication or I'll make a huge loss. Sorry I couldn't help more! In fact I am in almost the same position as you...
Hi Rossi and Welcome! Glad to meet you. You have 26 hubs in only 9 days, wow! You're off to a great start. I will keep watch for the answers because I don't know them and I want to know, too.
Read my hub, Confessions of an Indie Writer, to get complete details on having a book created on a shoestring budget. I believe that Lulu may even create hard backs, but I'm not sure. Promoting the book is yet another issue. jael
If you want to gather your writing in a hardbound book I suggest going with lulu (lulu.com). They allow you to publish paperback and hardcover books (also downloads). And it is free to publish with them, which is awesome. I've done a number of books with lulu and they did not disappoint me.

I just read an article on the Mythic Scribes forum that was complaining how many new writers want to jump right in and write an epic novel (this IS a sci-fi/fantasy writer's forum) with no experience... suggesting maybe newbies would be better off sticking to the short story for a few years before...

My question is how do you write a story? I have been interested in writing a story that I can continue on a weekly or even daily basis (Hubs). Now, I have difficulty knowing what I want to do. For example how did J.K. Rowling think about starting Harry Potter? More so than that, how did she come up...

I truly love the short story, and often wonder why there aren't more authors in the genre. Is it a lack of interest by the readers, or the writers, or both? Am I wrong, and why? Any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

How well do poems and short stories do on HP?I noticed a while back somewhere that HP staff had mentioned that creative writing such as poems and short stories don't do as well as informational pieces. I'm curious to know about the earnings of some of the people who publish a lot of these. Do you...

What are your favorite short stories of all time?Short stories are the most difficult to write, as they should be capable of arousing emotion, thrill, excitement in limited number of words. Which is the story that ended but still gave you the feeling that something more remains to be told?
