Here are some quotes about burning bridges. They are all unique and come from different perspectives. Which one, in your opinion, is the best?

Some people believe in this: "Never burn a bridge. Just shut it down for renovations for a while." ( Hope)

    Other believes in this:
“Find your fire and do not be afraid to burn bridges that deserve to fall.”  ( Kind of revenge, I guess)

    This:
"Burn the bridges that lead back to your old way of living.” (seeking better tomorrow)

This: “Careful not to burn bridges, you just might need to cross back.” ( being careful)

This: "Sometimes you just have to turn around, give a little smile, throw the match, and burn that bridge.” ( doing it happily)

This: “I demolish my bridges behind me ― then there is no choice but to move forward.” – Fridtjof Nansen ( when you have prepared yourself not to return back)

And This: “Don’t burn bridges. You’ll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr. ( A case of possibility)

(There are many more, but I believe these are sufficient.)

Hi Misbah, all of these are good quotes but I think all are for different situations. You can't rely on anyone as far as I see it.

I don't see this one as revenge. Sometimes in order to move forward, one has to burn a bridge so she can't go backward. An example would be in the case of domestic abuse. Since many domestic abuse situations end up with the murder of the abused, in this case burn the bridge and get far away from the abuser. If the abused feels like she, and in some cases, he, needs to forgive, then do it from a distance.

My favorite is this one: “Don’t burn bridges. You’ll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr. ( A case of possibility)

Been there, done that, with the exception of the first one I mentioned. It taught me to never say never.

        Hi, Miss Doris.

I believe you are right, and it is possible that it isn't a kind of revenge. I wrote in the observation "I guess" because I wasn't sure about it. I can agree with you that Domestic abuse can be a good example. In such a situation, one has to do it anyway.

The one you chose as your favorite is one of my favorites, as well. We really  have no idea how many times we have to cross the same river.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this. Much appreciated. smile

        Blessings and Love to you!

Misbah, they are all good but I like “Sometimes you just have to turn around, give a little smile, throw the match, and burn that bridge.” ( doing it happily)”.
    Here are some song lyrics:

John, I don't think I'd ever want to burn any bridges in my life, but if such a situation arises, I'd like to do so with a smile and without any regrets. smile

I enjoyed the song you shared. Beautiful lyrics. Thank you so much for sharing this smile

      Blessings always!!

    Misbah,
Sometimes we have to let go.

    This:
"Burn the bridges that lead back to your old way of living.” (seeking better tomorrow)

    Hi Misbah,

I like the 4th and last one the best.  It is best not to burn bridges if at all possible.  I hope you are having a good day!

Peggy, thank you very much. I completely agree with you. As I replied to John, I don't think I'd ever want to burn any bridges in my life, but if the situation arises, I'd prefer to manage it in a way that doesn't cause me to regret anything later in life.
To burn a bridge, I believe one must have a very big heart.

Today was a very excellent but hectic day for me. smile I hope you are doing well.

      Blessings and Love as always!!!
