I just read this article by Veronica McDonald. I had never heard of a “blitz poem’ before but it sounds like a fun exercise and I am going to give it a try. I thought others may be interested as well.

    John
    I've written my Blitz poem.

I will post it after I add a few finishing touches like a video and some text.

Soon as I get the chance, right now I've got to get to those nasty chores...like creating a pathway to the house.
    Then resting...

That is great, Brenda.I can’t wait to read it. I only just woke up, the cat wanted feeding.

The cat most probably has no idea it's Sunday tongue big_smile wink

Why can't cats have brunch on Sundays?  Wondering. . .

Lol!! That's cute, but this is my Saturday.

I'll see if I can train mine tomorrow.
Of course...brunch means they get more to eat all at once....
        They might like that one.

        Lol!

Lol! In Australia, it's Sunday. I doubt cats will ever enjoy brunch, but if they do, it would be convenient for you on Sundays. tongue

Maybe...but I cooked Sunday Dinner today, so tomorrow will be a restful day.
I'm hoping anyways...time to give those kittys some extra attention.

Oh how I know that kitty routine.
They wake you up if you sleep in late...breakfast is a must for kitty.

I just got back inside myself, so it will be awhile before I  finish it.

When you walk outside it's like walking on top of water...your foot doesn't even sink.
Everything is solid ice.  At least 4 inches on our vehicles, so it took some time to chip it off the windshield.

But necessary, in case of emergency.   I'm beat and dinner isn't going to cook itself.

Mostly everything here is closed due to the weather..so no delivery.

They'll be sleeping at brunch time...but if I rattle a bowl or open a refrigerator they will appear like magic. Normally, they wake me at 7 am, but it has gradually been getting earlier each day..today was 6.15...give me a break lol! Anyone would think they don't know what day it is.

But what can we really say to them when you say, "They're the Boss!" tongue

Your blitz poem is wonderful, Farah. I loved the theme of love, and it continued all through without going off track. You obeyed the rules perfectly and the result was great. Thank you for writing this. I am glad you enjoyed the challenge.

I absolutely enjoyed it, John! At first, it sounded a bit complicated with the strict line and title pattern but once I started writing, it took shape on its own. It was like solving a puzzle after a long time...you know how it’s confusing at the beginning and all falls into place at the end. I was just wondering if the phrases were short enough since I felt tempted to write larger sentences instead of short phrases every time. Had to work on that part a bit. I am so glad to know you all loved it! Thanks to you all for bringing up the challenge and making writing all the more fun! My blessings for you and yes, wishing you the warmth and happiness that the colourful spring brings from this part of the world.

Thank you so much, dear Brenda and Misbah! I was a bit hesitant to post this since I’ve never written one before but I am so glad you liked it! Thank you for your love and appreciation. I guess spring won’t be coming too soon at your place but wishing you a happy spring nevertheless. My blessings and love for you all too!

While I wish to see it snow....haha...I think that’s what they mean by saying “the grass is always greener on the other side!” lol....well it will take some time for the flowers to bloom in full swing but here winter is a cozy temperature like when you have your AC turned on and hardly lasts a month...and...don’t even ask about summer. I dread summer! We have 6 seasons. Summer, rainy season, Autumn, Late Autumn, Winter and Spring. All lasting for 2 months but I always felt other than rainy season, winter and spring the rest can be put under summer or even called mild summer, normal summer and the summer that kills you, literally! I wait for winter throughout the year actually. I wish you a pleasant winter and a beautiful spring that comes right after. Stay blessed

Brenda Arledgeposted 3 years agoin reply to this

Sorry you don't get to at least experience the snow.

The snowflakes are quite beautiful, but the ice...Not so much.

I think I'd hate 2 months of the rainy season.

And it sounds like Summer is a bear.

I guess I'll be content here.
