Hi Chitrangada, thanks for the encouraging comments. Yes different people have attached different significance to rainbows. Children too love gazing at the rainbows. We can forget our worries for a few moments while looking at it  and admiring it's beauty.

Thanks John for sharing my poem in response to Brenda's word prompt. I am so glad you liked it. Rainbows do bring a lot of cheer after the gloom of a rainy day.

    Vidya
In your Poem-Rainbows Brighten and Add Color to the Sky -Response Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt Week 38 you tell us about a moment in your life when the sight of a rainbow made you forget your worries.

Then you reminisce about the moments you saw rainbows as a child.

Your poem describes how people perceive a rainbow & what it means to their lives.

It often gives us a feeling of hope helping us to keep moving forward.

We are reminded to keep following our dreams despite any roadblocks that come into our path.

Sometimes we feel a connection to love ones who have already left this world.

It's almost like the rainbow is a connection between heaven & earth with a pot of gold waiting for us at the end.

    This is a great write.
That feeling you experienced in the midst of a stormy day is one that is indescribable.

It touches us...it leaves us with a newfound hope.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article

Hi There Pamela, thanks for the comments. I am glad you liked the message in the poem. I enjoyed writing it too. Reminded me of the positive influence rainbows can have on people. The faithful consider  the rainbow to be a sign of forgiveness and protection, from God.

In your poem you wrote that ancients saw rainbows as a path between heaven and earth.  I like that idea.  Good work, Vidya!  Thanks John for bringing attention to her work.  I also enjoyed the quotes.
