Manatita has written another beautiful poem about love and that we must set it free, or suffering will occur. Ego may be the problem but love liberates.

      Hello Manatita!
Thank you for sharing another insightful poem. Attachment is the root cause of sufferings, and I agree that love means setting free, and not binding.
Thank you for sharing this well crafted poem with deep thoughts.
Thank you Pamela, for sharing this in the forum.
My best wishes to both of you.

Very eloquent and wise words, Manatita. Yes, the saying is true, “If you love something set it free..etc etc.” A pleasure to read.
    Thank you for sharing, Pamela.

      Indeed, my brother.
Grasping or bargaining ... trying to possess... persistently holding on to what we've lost, is not only an insult to Self, but a hazy perception of a supernal or omnipotent Love.

Manatita, my dearest brother, thank you very much for writing this piece. There was a lot in there that we need to absorb. Yes, a bird in a cage may appear cheerful, but no one enjoys jail; if you love someone, you must let them free. There is obviously some ego involved if we do not let Love to set free.

As you said: Ego, like a sharp blade, slices my candy…. payment for each slice.”

I loved these lines : “I am Love’s darling and I must learn how to give you this piece of candy,
Without bargaining or expectations … not asking for my fifty pence.”

I loved the ending part of your poem where you said: “Go, my Love, I will miss your hugs, your safety …Need the drama of this arena, to awaken our longing, for supernal Joy.”

I loved the whole poem, I just can’t thank you enough.

Did Rumi suffer heartbreak after he lost Shams?

Heartbreak can also motivate us to look within to realize our true selves. It can also help us to understand our relationship with God. It can also make us understand that God is Love. This was the situation with Rumi.

    “To find the beloved,
    You must become the beloved.”

When he was with Shams, he lost himself. After being heartbroken by Shams's absence, he found himself at the Depth of his Heart's ocean.  After his heart was wounded by the loss of Shams, he wrote the most epic fascinating mystic poetry. I believe that everything happens for a purpose, and that it is necessary for the evolution of our souls. Yes, some souls take longer to evolve than others, but they evolve at God's set time; we can't force it to happen quicker. Thank you so much once again. It was a very thought provoking piece.
Also thanks to Pamela for starting this forum discussion.

Love and Blessings to you both!

Chuckle. You have read it, my Dear.

What you do or where you are, is a matter for you and Divine Providence. The friend in me will ask you to continue to be kind to yourself, but the journey is still yours to walk.

The student of Love points the way to living water, but we will only drink according to our own earnestness, yearning, inner cry or hunger. May you continue to feel the Love of Allah's blessings. Gratitude. Hari Om Tat Sat!!

    Manatita...
Your poem tells the age old story of if you love something set it free.

    I love these words

"My clinging is carved out of loneliness, not knowing
That ‘Letting go’, can only dance with the joy of Freedom."

"efforts to capture a sparrow, I may
    Clip its wings"

"must learn how to give you this piece of candy,
Without bargaining or expectations … not asking for my fifty pence."

We all desire to be loved & often try to hold onto too tight.

We need to let go and let each person find his own way to the light.

    Great poetry my friend.

I've said this many times, but it's always true. Manatita's poems contain vibrant and excellent imagery. His articles are also thought provoking. I always enjoy reading them.

Yes Linda. I deliberately use images. Some of my performance pieces are full of them. But I hardly put them here. Yes, Spiritual articles coming from experiences are always thought-provoking. Jesus, Buddha and many more, had to deal with callous scholars in robes (Habits)

Spirituality is at once mystical and paradoxical. That's its nature. Thank you so much!!
