Please read the intriguing poetry by Brenda on Contactor Hell. Here is the link:

    Hi Brenda,
The poems are relatable to me. For a longer part of my life, I lived in the city center and there were always street and building renovations and constructions going on. I found a lot of peace coming to the outskirts of the city where Mom built a complex and we can enjoy tranquility and calm.

      Thanks Rosina.

I try to escape to tranquility when it becomes too much.

The worse part is trying to carry stuff in from the back...not to mention parking.

My truck is in the backyard.

I just Brenda's poem, and it sounds like you are very frustrated with the construction on your street, That is spelled out very in your poems. I enjoyed reading them.

Thanks for posting Brenda's poems, Rosina.

      Frustration is the right word.

Not only is the street closed for a month, but an empty house next door is being refurbished.

Those workers kindly start blaring music in the early morning.

      And now...it's snowing.

It's beautiful though...a sight to see.

What a terrible situation, Brenda. Your poem expressed your frustration well. It was good to see the video too.
    Thank you for sharing, Rosina,

      Thanks John.
I wasn't certain the video would work.

I've been waiting for someone to help carry ice melt up to the house, so I'd be prepared for this cold weather....since it's out back in the garage.

It didn't happen yet and I'm watching Snowflakes fall from the sky.

It's quite beautiful & serene though as it falls to the ground.

This all started Oct 31 & is supposed to be finished by Dec 1.
I truly hope the weather does not delay it.

As John says, this must be a horrible situation. It must be very inconvenient as well as unpleasant. I hope the street is clear by Christmas!

      Linda...
I think the universe is trying to tell me to stay home.

I was tired of trying to park the truck in the backyard....
I just barely missed scraping the it with the fence & the garage trying to get it parked.

So i started using my car.

Well...the blinkers have decided to only work when they want too..so it's a dilemma.

I still need to finish going through things here at the house...so in between writing I'm trying to finish cleaning out closets, but i can't take anything anywhere with all this construction....so I'm just creating more piles of boxes.

      Oh well...it's all okay.

What's life without a few hiccups...
At least I'm here and a new day is just over the horizon.

I do hope it's done by Christmas...cause Thanksgiving is almost here.

    Brenda,

Sending well wishes your way for a peaceful Thanksgiving and a place to park. My blinkers on my 1999 Rodeo work when they want to work also. I live on a county road with speedy trucks and cars. When I leave home, I ask my cats to pray Mama get back in one piece.

Thanks, surovi99 for sharing this hub.

      Thanks Bobbi...
I'm sure hoping Thanksgiving will be okay...but since this is Ohio..
      I'm going to be prepared.

I'll be sure to have a Turkey cooking in case I'm alone.

I used to always cook dinner for me & Ron...so it will be fine.

If the weather cooperates...maybe I'll go visiting others.

It's strange your vehicle does that too...i just paid to fix the problem back in March, but i guess it didn't work.

      Be careful driving.

      Have a great Thanksgiving.

Our next-door neighbors renovated their home last year. I remembered the noise being so loud and horrible. I can feel your pain. You have portrayed your situation excellently. Take care and keep smiling.
Happy weekend. Blessings and Love always smile

    Thanks for sharing, Rosina!

      Thanks Misbah...
I'm not sure which is louder...the house being worked on or the road.

Actually...when they were right in front of the house digging a trench & installing these long black pipes...that was loud.

      Have a great weekend.
      I'll grin and bear it.

      Thanks Ravi...
I'm hoping this round of colder weather doesn't put them behind next week.

That's the one thing I don't understand....why didn't they start this project when the weather was warmer?

The answer won't help now though...so I'm just dealing with it.

There's just got to be a lesson in here somewhere.

With Thanksgiving tomorrow and my parking still amiss...still can't see my little street....I'll make the best of a bad situation.

We can't always have what we want...but we can be thankful for what we have.
