What fast growing weed can I plant on high dog traffic area?
I have a high traffic area near a fence where the dogs have turned my grass to dirt. Is there a fast growing weed that I can plant in that area? I don't mind having to replant every couple of months. I just don't like them running through it when it's rainy and they end up with muddy legs.
Dandelions are great and contrary to common belief they're actually a herb not a weed. You have to be careful with weeds because they'll quickly take over your whole garden.
You could also try laying some pebbles down instead or some concrete tiles. Wood chips are also something you could try.
Hi peeples,
If you really want an "abundant" weed to cover the dirt path, try kudzu. You will have more than you want.
Vetch is a good plant, and you can get the seeds to sow at any farm supply store because it is also an herbovore food. Just sow the seeds on the ground and watch them take off. Once it has taken hold, it needs no care at all. We have it two kinds of it growing on one berm of our underground house. One appears to have been sown by the previous owner and the other smaller variety is probably wild vetch. It is attractive with little pink or purple flowers and chokes out the other unattractive weeds, too (and there are no thorns or thistles). Unfortunately, dogs have the habit of turning any kind of plant to dirt. I'm not sure anything will survive dogs. But if the vetch survives the dogs, you would never have to replant.

What are fast growing trees you can plant in your naked yard? When I was a kid, my parents started with an empty lot, and never seemed to pick hardy or fast growing trees? What trees are good when you you want to see pay off in a few years?
