The Issue at Hand

The Jeremiah Wright issues for President Obama are in the news again. An ad put together by an independent Conservative Super Pac was nixed today because it brought former Pastor Jeremiah Wright and his relationship with Obama in to the political fray once more. Reuters is reporting that the leader of this Super Pac, one Joe Ricketts, decided to pull the ad because it didn't reflect the political approach Ricketts prefers to use. Mitt Romney previously stated that this type of ad is "the wrong approach" for Republicans as well.

Romney has pushed for a less personal, non character assailing campaign against Obama. He has vowed to stick to the "issues" with Obama's presidential record - and, yes, there are many issues to choose from. Romney wasn't as "nice" against his Republican opponents in the preliminary race. Why should he treat the race against Obama any differently?

Obama certainly doesn't have a problem with attempted character assassination on Romney. Obama's camp has tried to attack Romney with the "dog on the roof" and "high school hi-jinx" issues but both have failed miserably as Obama's "dog for dinner" story and "elementary school bullying of a girl" issues were far worse. Camp Obama also ran a deceiving ad about Bain Capital and Romney cutting jobs and pocketing money - they failed to mention that Romney left the Bain dealings nearly two years before the crash and ensuing lay off's occurred. This just goes to show that all is "fair game" for the Obama team when it comes to dirty campaigning.

The "Wright" Stuff

By now most Americans are familiar with the infamous "Not God bless America, God damn America" sermon of Reverend Wright. This single quote speaks volumes about the beliefs of this man. I find it quite offensive and wonder what President and Mrs. Obama thought when they heard this and similar sermons during the 20 years that they attended Reverends Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago .

Obama has tried to package this relationship as "I just went to this church, I never really understood all that anti American stuff he was saying." How many folks would go sit in a church and listen to "hate America and what she stands for" sermons for 20 years unless they were on board and buying in to the concepts? It makes no sense at all.

Earlier this week it was reported that Obama's team was trying to "silence" Reverend Wright. The Daily Caller story discusses the new book titled "The Amateur" by Edward Klein. In the book Wright states that Obama tried to convince him to "stretch the truth" and also asked him to stop all speaking engagements until after the 2008 elections because it would "hurt the campaign." Wright also states "He (Obama) seemed more concerned about his political ambitions than Wright's well being."

The Truth about Obama and Wright

Do you think Obama believed the Anti American rhetoric that Reverend Wright was preaching?

The 2012 Elections

Obama's camp is trying to say that Republicans bringing Wright into this elections is a racial issue and is inappropriate. This makes no sense to me. The problems seems to be that Obama sat through regular sermons listening to this controversial Reverend spew hatred about our great country and he returned Sunday after Sunday for 20 long years. What does that say about his ability to serve as President of a country, one that we aren't even sure that he likes and quite possibly loathes? If Romney did the same thing we would ask the same questions - how is that a racial issue?

Is it Racial?

Is this political issue "Racial" ?

Campaigning

The dismal record of the past 6+ years speaks volumes. Obama is not up to the job and we need to get him out of office as soon as possible. It does matter that our president befriended this man and drank his kool aid for 20 years. It speaks volumes about who Obama really is.
