   Yes- a famine is coming to the US - God has warned us in visions of the coming famine and war in the US. It's effects will be seen in the near future.This famine will be worse than anything the Us has experienced before.
   Ps 91: Those that call on God and will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. These are those that will make it through what is coming.
   God isn't the one sending it- but God warns His people before anything happens -because God is faithful.

   the whole world is in for a global financial melt down... US dollar is in trouble - the Euro with Greece and Italy is in trouble... the Yen is not stable....
   
   Mankind is on the brink of a a perception shift..... all the old rules no longer work and it is time we grew up and passed kindergarten... Focus on building character instead of making and buying things.... A new beginning will take the melt down... it will be ugly - but the future is bright!

   It is not just the US that is in danger of a double dip recession. The whole world is on a financial knife edge. I would like to believe that because the situation is being so closely monitored by global economic giants we will all be able to avoid a further recession. But it should be very obvious to all of us that our lifestyles will have to change for the foreseeable future.
   
   'Austerity measures' is not just a phrase ... it actually means something ... and it means that we all will have to be a lot less profligate, both with our own income and with our country's income. Otherwise the outlook is not just bleak but disastrous.
   
   We are reaping the whirlwind produced by our own consumer society which has as its motto 'Buy what you like  ... and pay later'. It would appear to be that many of us will never repay what we have borrowed.

   I think (and I love when people ask a question requiring one to actually think, not just feel, so thanks for that up front) that we have it within our power to make that decision for ourselves. Our leadership (or lack thereof) will undoubtedly make that call for us collectively. We have options. If we continue to do nothing more than throw money at the problem (TARP, Stimulus 1 & 2, and now the possibility of a Stimulus 3) we will continue to get the same piss poor results. However, if we actually address the underlying issues of the recessionary pressures,  we can quickly turn this into one of the most positive growth periods in history, rivaling that under both Reagan and Clinton. Only by closing loopholes to increase revenue and simultaneously reduce regulation while either making the Bush tax cuts permanent or ending them (the effective tax rates don't matter all that much in the big picture, what matters to business is the date certain that something will change, in this case in 2012 they know a change is coming they just don't know what the change will be and that makes them take a wait and see attitude about it) will business and job creators kick start the economic engine. Government jobs do not create wealth. They only recycle the wealth of the nation by taking it out of the hands of the people. For every dollar we "invest" in a government worker we take a dollar out of the US economy. I don't care what they buy with their income, it still took from the economy instead of growing it.
   
   So "I think" it is still up in the air. Both up and down are entirely possible at this point. Only time and another elections cycle will tell for sure.

   I didn't realize that we were out of the first one. I can't imagine things getting any betterr for the forseeable future. Very little by way of governmental policy has changed and I don't see any positive affects on the horizon. You can't bring the economy back while fighting a two-front war with all sorts of little international interventions going on concurrently.

   It goes back and forth in my mind all the time.  The US seems weak, but sustainable, EU is what is the worst bit of things going on right now.  The impact of the struggles of the EU could bring some harm to the US economy.

    Did we escape the recent one?   Are we back to work?   Able to buy new homes, send our kids to college ( actually, that one is behind me), go to the dentist?
    
    
    
    Buy a WHOLE tank of gas?
    
    
    Whatever, your barometers ( or mine ), I do not see healing and abundance on the horizon.
    
    The USofA has PLENTY of food and supplies....but we will be like many of our neighbors.....unable to get it to those who need.  Those few shipments that do manage to get through, will cause riots in the streets.
    
    It will happen...........you heard it from me, not because God told me, but because, I understand, both, agriculture and transportation.
    
    
    Anyone, and everyone......ask yourself this:
    
    Am I rearing MY children, or the GOVERNMENT's children.........Your particular answer reveals very much.

    I hate to break it to you, but we are already in another one. Obama put us in debt by trillions of dollars for this so called "war" that was "supposedly" over. I don't know where all the money went, but its going to be bad again. No jobs, lay offs, people losing homes.... America is one giant credit card that has been swiped one to many times.
