What should the US policy be toward Pakistan?

Pakistan with its nuclear weapons is one of the hot spots in civil unrest.  Deadly bombings, assassinations, and battles between the Taliban and government troops are pushing this US ally into potential turmoil.

US are the only superpower in the Globe. It has a great responsibility not only to its own country but to the other countries of world as well and Pakistan in particular. Pakistan is an ally of US right from the formation of Pakistan. US helped Pakistan by arms against India many times. Once US had used Pakistan against the aggression of USSR in Afghanistan. After 9/11 attack US had used Pakistan as corridor to attack Taliban in Afghanistan. It was a known fact that Taliban was a force built up by Pakistan itself and it the Pakistan and Saudi Arabia that the two countries once recognized the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Now Pakistan as a nation is bound to work in adverse situation. How does Pakistan can go against US or against Taliban? Pakistan is playing the duel role. Now US are trying to come to a balancing situation. Additional US Force is sent to Afghanistan to reduce or root out the Taliban Force. But Obama is committed to take back the US Force by 2011. Pakistan knows it very well. If a compromise is attained Obama will be happy to order the American Force to return as wanted by the American citizens. But the danger of terrorism will remain there. The object of attacking Afghanistan will remain incomplete and the danger of terrorism will prevail. Every action leads to a reaction. US have now a great responsibility towards Pakistan how to tackle this volatile country for international peace.
