How would you address the issues currently taking place on our southern border with Mexico?
I would put up 20 foot double fences 100 feet apart with a mine field between them. Then I would put sniper teams every mile with 50 caliber rifles. Anything that tries to cross gets shot or blown up. Then the drug lords kill each other south of the border.
I would talk with my Mexican neighbors and brothers, discourage my kids from drug use, learn some Spanish and make it harder to buy assault weapons. They are North Americans just like us, cowboys and college grads, family oriented. We need to help Mexico create jobs and prevent corruption. It starts with education on both sides of the border.
It would be helpful if we stopped the AK47s and other weapons from being smuggled across the border from the U.S. into Mexico where they are used in drug wars and against the Mexican police, reporters and anyone who gets in their way. Also, American drug users are the biggest source of money for the Mexican drug lords. Solving these problems will involve cooperation with the Mexican government and persistent effort on both sides of the border.
