I make it a point to not curse AT people or a certain group of people; otherwise I'm not exactly timid to use a timely curse here and there. I've even braved the occasional crude word in my Hubs.

I really try not to. I used to have a mouth that could make a sailor blush, but I'm working hard to get over it.

I don't really care if people do. It's a personal choice and if they don't feel a conviction about it then that's not for me to judge.

I absolutely curse. I was told by one of my friends, "You have a great vocabulary, why do you diminish yourself by using such filthy words?" I replied, "I agree, I do have an excellent vocabulary. And, because of that...When I say, "That is a total and utter CLUSTER F*CK!!!" Believe me, THAT is absolutely THE BEST description for it!

I don't. Cussin' can be an emotional release, but it's poor language. Whatever it may say in any given situation is so ambiguous, so indefinable, that its meaning is strictly personal and quite selfish. If I need to cough up an outburst to let off some pressure, I go off by myself for a minute. I don't want to subject others to that. It's rude.

Sometimes a good outburst serves a useful purpose, but only if it is the exception rather than the rule.  If you are perceived as someone who just curses out of laziness, then any rant from you will fall on deaf ears.  On the other hand, in some really stressful situations, a good curse can relieve some of the stress but you need to be mindful of the company in which this might happen.  Causing real offense to others is always bad.

I don't curse AT people, but I do, unfortunately, swear at myself and at situations when other people are not present. I won't repeat what I can end up saying at times as it's both unpublishable and I would be totally embarrassed about the foul language I have used - even if it is in private!

If people swear when they are stressed/upset/under pressure then no, I don't mind. I think this is understandable and it's probably a good way for a lot of people to let off steam safely. What I really hate is children swearing but even worse, is parents/adults swearing at their kids! I don't think there's any excuse for that. I even saw one mother swearing like a trouper at her four year old, then when the wee boy said a curse word a few minutes later, she told him off - what a hypocrite! No wonder the wee soul looked totally confused!

I do curse, but not at people. generally when I drop something or am mad at myself. Besides It is proven that cursing is a good way to relieve stress. although wouldnt recommend making a habit of it. But I do feel great after a bad day locking myself in the bathroom and just letting it all out.

I don't.  I feel it's a waste of breath to say something mean and not really meant to say.  About those who do, it's their language and self-expression.

I do not curse.  I used to, until I had kids.  For me it just sounded wrong once I had my kids.  I don't care one way or another if someone curses, but to be honest I would feel more uncomfortable if my kids were around.

I try not to curse because I feel like while cursing can be an outlet for anger it also has the potential to make you feel more angry...and tends to aggravate situations. I do let the odd curse slip when I'm frustrated (like if I stub my toe or something). But I try not to make a habit of it.

I'm sure most people curse at some point in their lives. Most do it as an expression of emotion (pain, anger, love, hate, sadness). If you don't direct it at anyone else, then it's not a big deal. However, cursing is usually frowned upon in public, so I believe people should take care to minimize it in such settings. Better yet, try replacing those words with funnier alternatives or stop expressing emotion through words altogether. People will know when your hurt. A good old yell is better than a huge FU@C!

Never did it , my mom always says , if one person is bad then why you also need to match their levels and become bad. Always think good about people no matter what they do to you and how you get treated by them . God up there is watching everything and he is the one to punish people and not us

No, I don't curse. Personally, I think cursing makes people appear dumber than they really are, and most of the time it's adding in words that don't even change the sentence on bit. It's annoying to listen to, but as long as it's not around my kids then to each their own.

I usually keep a tab on my cursing. And when I come across people who tend to curse a lot...I feel sorry for them 'cause they are not aware of what they speak and try to refrain their company.

I do.  I rather wish I didn't, as it's generally unpleasant to hear someone curse, and by the Golden Rule I should spare others the aggravation.

It's a tough habit to break, though--there's even some psychological research suggesting that cursing actually does have some analgesic properties--a conclusion which my experience generally supports!  It really does make you feel a bit better. . .

In the sense of honesty , I can not tell you that I "never" curse..........but, even my husband is shocked when I do.

I detest, detest, how casually some words are spoken.........

There are times when I can, shiver and allow you your anger or frustation, but a cursing mouth is not welcome at my table, in my home, or in my presence.  I will ask you ( politely) to tone it down!

I will, (and have) asked the offender to leave my home.   I will, as a 'manager', tell you quickly that your language is unacceptable.

I will complain to the restaraunt, theater, skating rink manager..........I will tell them, I will not come here again, if this is the accepted manner and language.

I do on occasion. It's not very nice for a lady to swear, but I can't help it sometimes, especially if I hit my foot on the edge of the couch or something. It's not very pleasant to hear someone else cuss, so I guess it wouldn't sound very nice if someone heard me. So the conclusion is to try to stop, I guess!

I swear, a lot, I find it a good way to give a sentence more 'juice', in an argument or discussion, I'll probably use moderate swear words to make the other speaker more angry, thus losing there temper making them make mistakes.

In general chatter, I tend not to use curses, for the simple fact I only use them to exaggerate a point. Sometimes, when alone, I curse quite a lot, at life; money; writing wrong.

    Wow. Now I sound silly.

I do not curse. And I feel something different when thinking the foul word. When I hear somebody cursing, I developed a momentary headache and distracted.

I try not to curse at others but then you have those people that press and hold my curse button down when they see me so you know what they get. In general I am trying to not curse at all Im starting to see it as a turn off and very unlady like plus I am a mother now so its a big no no. However when I hit my toe on the bed rail or something it sort of just flies out and I dont have the time to think about it. I have started to talk slower and not be so fast to respond to others that anger me so that I can choose my words carefully instead of saying what is really on my mind the way it first comes in my head. How do I feel about people who curse well it makes me angry when they are loud and cursing in public on the cell phone with kids around but I just stare at them crazy and they get the picture.

Put me behind the wheel, and I will let it rip!  I also swear to myself when I get frustrated- kinda like letting the steam burst in bits from a pot (blowing my lid.)
I really object to openly swearing in public and never hesitate to speak up, especially if kids are around. There is too much gratuitous swearing in the media today. I feel we should be able to control the tendency to swear in front of others.

My father used to cuss and every time he did in front of me he would say, " I don't want to ever hear you cuss. When you turn 18 then you can cuss all you want". Well, when I turned 18 I was so used to not cussing that I didn't feel comfortable cussing. To this day it is very rare I'll cuss. My dad had no idea he had a big influence with just those few words.

Seldom or not at all.  I find cursing to be so declasse and vulgar.   Have you heard the phrase that cursing occurs because the person has a little vocabulary.   There are more descriptive ways besides using profane language to express dismay, disdain, and outrage!

Yes I do, but I save it for special occasions.  I think if people routinely curse, they must have a small vocabulary, or have poor self-control and don't know any manners.
