I think the next ten years will be chaotic, devastating, and uplifting by turns. The world as we know it is changing at an accelerated pace:

2011 was a year of increased seismic activity. Our planet is experiencing dramatic alterations in weather patterns. Dormant volcanos are waking up. The next ten years will see mass migration as vast swathes of land become submerged beneath flood waters, and inhospitable places gradually become more welcoming. Increased volcanic activity will affect air traffic for lengthy periods. At least one of the biggest volcanos will have a major eruption within the next ten years with a resultant affect on air quality over a vast area.

Oil supplies and carbon based fuels will continue to dwindle as demand increases. Alternative energy sources will be identified, and people will wake up to conservation  issues. Solar power, wind turbines, geo-thermal heat sourcing, will all become increasingly popular, but other new technologies will also emerge.

The next decade will see increasing tensions in the Middle East, the collapse of the Euro, plus the ravages of economic depression in the West. It will be a difficult, and occassionally frightening ten years. On the upside, all the gloom and doom will inspire a new philanthropy, and a recognition that we stand together or we fall apart.

Technology-wise the biggest innovations will be in transportation. In the short-term, personal transportation will decrease as costs continue to rise, but later, personal vehicles will be developed that are hugely fuel efficient, and take advantage of unforseen power sources. Overall, however, I forsee a time when people will travel less and less.

I will be sending Mary Neal a straight jacket for Christmas. Also, the US probably still won't have high-speed rail mass transit.

The criminal financial system will collapse as well as all the other mafias (big food, big pharma, big oil ...), humanity has the possibilities for a new beginning. Exterrestrials will arrive on our spaceship Earth and will help us to solve our problems.

Psychic Larry predicts that most of the other psychics will have egg on their faces 10 years from now. They and the professional futurologists will be scrambling to distance themselves from their failed predictions. My general prediction is that we'll continue to live in interesting times.

Laws are being implemented by govt's that further restrict freedoms under the guise of 'protecting' others. Degeneration of society usually starts at the top and trickles it's way downwards. For a society to move forward they have to move towards and explore the unknowns. Paranoia's and delusions of grandeur from the 'elite' will suffocate others. Loss of humanity, realities of life between rich and poor is losing ground. Complacency and apathy from the people will help speed up the process. No idea really, just some discussions I've run into, lol.
