What are you less surprised by...

the uncle of Kim Jong Un (North Korea's leader) being charged and executed as a traitor, or the uncle of Barack Obama  being given a green card despite having lived in the U.S. illegally for 43 years?

These issues are in no way related.  There are many immigrants living in this country "illegally" and have been since their birth.  Does that mean this country should deport all "illegal" residents to countries in which they have no friends, family, or means of support?  If the GOP would stop obstructing everything in Washington, those ignorant laws would have been changed by now.
As far as What's his face in Korea, we have no idea what he was accused of, so this is like comparing apples and bananas.  They may both be fruits but they certainly are not the same in substance.

      d. william, this isn't a question intended to discuss deportation. But both men had uncles in the news, and I am curious as to hearing which item elicited the least surprise from the news reading public.

In that case then neither of them should be a surprise to anyone. When all we hear on the news is negative, there is no more "shock value" to anything anymore.

None. Both are dictatorships and both respond to nepotism or "clientelisme".
