What are your views of the Mexican and C.A. children coming into the US ?
What is a country to do with children ? Each person has a passion to save children's lives and make their lives better. Where does this end, or does it? What is happening with the breakdown of the borders and the economy ? Being that the US is burdened with wars, thoughts of wars, welfare, food stamps, retirement, babyboomers, company bailouts, reduced taxes and medical problems, who is footing this bill and where will the money come from?
We are the largest, most powerful, and arguably advanced, economy on the planet with enormous wealth and resources who claim to be the most awesomest at everything.
A relatively small group of children is not a tremendous burden in any realistic way. That doesn't mean it isn't an issue, it just is nowhere near the magnitude of what conservatives are making it out to be, but conservatives these days, don't seem to really care about anything except exaggerating minor issues into calamities and saying how the calamity is the direct fault of Obama and that we are all going to perish, blah, blah, blah....
Those same conservative are also fond of saying that we are the greatest nation on Earth, which if that is true, I really wish they would act like it and provide proper care to these children who have been through hell and need help, rather than grandstanding for cheap politics.
As for solving the problem of child refugees, we should probably address the root cause, which is violence fueled by the drug trade, which is driven by the massive market of Americans who love to inject and snort poison in to their bodies. Solution: legalize drugs. Does that create problems for us? Absolutely, but at least we wouldn't be dumping our problems on to our neighbors.
The overall immigration issue is also an easy fix. The problem isn't the lack of a solid border, the real problem is an opportunity differential. Solution: export opportunity. Take the money wasted on wall-building, border patrol, deportation, and detention, and make investments directly into our neighbors. Simple.
You must be a neighbor or special interests there.
We are all neighbors and it is an issue of human interest.
There are thousands a day coming in and not just children but boys who look to be almost men! Well and I am sure there are plenty of men too and some of those with guns but we are not suppose to know or talk about that and yes what are we to do with them? They are having problems already and now towns are turning them away and many if not almost all have diseases and need medical which is another cost to us. Our veterans are dying 20 or more a day from our corrupt VA and our military have had to take a cut in pay but no one even asks Americans how they feel about this and what we want! Our government thought if they just scatter them all over the country we wouldn't notice but Americans are noticing and blocking these convoys of illegals. We have enough problems and we have homeless with nothing to eat and health problems. How about them? Our government just ignores them or pushes them out in the country so they might starve and not have to be looked at. Humanity starts at home. Buying people to control is a bigger plan that might look good right now; but will be our downfall in the end. It needs to stop, we need to scream for it to stop and be heard!!!!
No we are not the greatest nation; but we use to be and we can be again if we take our country back.
Chasing away child refugees? I've never been more embarrassed to be an American, and, after Bush, that is saying a lot. I sure hope these children never heard anything good about America because they are going to be extremely disappointed.
I am not Rep so save your breath about Bush. You are not ashamed about our dying veterans or our homeless you and our government want to ignore? You don't sound American to me...and neither does Barack Hussein Obama. The man raised Islamic and commun
Chasing away child refugees does sound American to you? I'm not a Dem so you can save your breath about Obama as well and if it were up to me we would have no veterans or homeless. I don't seem to be like many around me. Doesn't mean I'm un-American.
Veterans are why you live in a free country (if you live here) and why should we take care of others before our own. Even the heathen take care of their own; not that I think you or Obama have ever read that.
The point was that I wouldn't have sent them to fight a decade's worth of pointless war, so there'd be little taking care of necessary. And chasing away child refugees is still shameful and in no way represents MY America.
The point is this is never ending and someone needs to seal our borders against this and terrorists or there will be no anyone's America. It is common sense not uncaring. I don't think you have a clue what this is really about.
I'll agree there is a problem pertaining to immigration, though, I'd solve it completely opposite from you. Still, addressing that problem is entirely separate from our obligations to care for theses children, which so far has been shameful.
Well now I hear Obama is wanting money to send them back so what is with that?
I have no idea. I don't obsess over Obama.
I read on an article at Yahoo that our gov't is presently spending an average of 250 dollars a day on the upkeep of these children of illegal immigrants. It runs my husband and I around the same amount of dollars a month to keep the electricity and water on for our family, all the while we are paying for precisely those other expenses you mentioned. But even in these times of high unemployment, I can't help but foresee taxes again going up - otherwise the money to provide for these children simply isn't going to be there. Not that I think Obama cares about the burden on average Americans. Even with the high unemployment rate his policies have incurred, he acts as if Americans poop dollars and fart spare change.
And contrary to what some have said, these aren't refugees in the classical sense of the word. These are illegals that want to come here because they live in countries that practice "the haves-and-have nots" social and economic policies. As much as I can feel sorry for them, in truth no people can know freedom without taking a stand against corruption. To give amnesty in these cases is, I feel, the same as saying "just give up, you aren't strong enough to change things". And this attitude is condescending and it is fiction.
These kids are coming from countries with the highest murder rates in the world. I'm not sure you're being very fair to their experience, and it isn't just a willy-nilly claim that they are refugees, it is the UN saying so, in every sense of the term
junkseller, you make a valid point, especially as it concerns children. But let us also remember that in the zealous welcoming of illegals many, many of the underworld figures responsible for those things are eagerly coming here and setting up shop.

My direct response would be that the Obama Admin is completing the collapse of the United States and that the catastrophic problems we face today are a direct result of a a bi-partisan effort. We could not be here if the stage had not been set by decades of engineering by both parties. America has died and with it Individual Freedom.
The children at the border are, but one more fire and there are only so many fires that a fire department can deal with before it, itself, becomes consumed by the flames. As American resolve, strength and freedom diminishes the replacement is already inset into the American culture. Greed for government handouts, weather through some form of welfare or through legislative action to provide protectionist laws for a particular life style have served to slice the country up into competing segments.
The Constitution is no longer the law of the land and has been replaced with the United Nations Charter and Dec on Human Rights, which the Roosevelt Admin oversaw and supervised. These documents (you should read) have been the road map that have been carefully followed, introduced and injected into America.
A comparison reading would be the writings of Marx and Engels. Essentially, we have been following a map that leads to a Marxist Socialist State and, we are here. It is what the American people voted for; something for nothing and preferential treatment that has a very big price tag.
I would venture, that it is in the interest of the government to push the people, as we are now seeing, to the point where blood is spilled and Marshal Law is declared, thus the bell tolls for the great experiment.
If I am wrong, I would be delighted.

Americans have become deeply divided over a combination of political, cultural, and social factors that have been escalating for decades. The truth is, political polarization has intensified significantly over the last 40 years. The two major parties have moved further apart ideologically, with...

I never want to hear the words “America is better than this” again. I never want to be told about America’s better angels.I want honesty. I want an admission of exactly who we are as a country, and let’s be damn clear about that definition: We are a country that just elected – that just willfully...

Why do so many Americans hate America? And if they hate it so much why don't they just leave? One thing that really bothers me is the way some Americans seem to hate everything about America. I'd just like to ask them: "If you hate everything about the country you live in then why are you...

America? Don't they see that illegals are going to exhaust our social, medical, and health services? Furthermore, since these illegals have no contributable skills nor education, many are going to be on welfare and we have enough people on welfare already without adding more to...
