Why does Trump wants to cut off the public from government information? Scary or just Big Ego?

Trump ban on social media and contact with reporters for all Fed agencies. The moves come after Trump was infuriated over inauguration image  comparison to Obama‚Äôs 2009 inauguration. The tweet was retweeted by the National Park Service (NPS).

The Interior Department, which oversees the park service, was ordered last Friday to shut down its social media operations. Its accounts were quickly revived over the weekend.

I was amazed at this comparison. So I dug further. The one on the right was taken about 4 hours before festivities. The one on the left was taken at the height of festivities. The white was to protect the lawn or maybe to present this picture more drastically. The Park Service lifers hate Trump. I think that their biased intercession is wonderful.
And I think a revamping of their way top heavy bureaucracy needs a boot in the pants. They have more bureaucrats than rangers --- what the hell?!
They restrict more activity than they allow.
I am from the West and we see real clear the brutality of the Service toward users. The Forest Service makes them look like Neanderthals. They are much more concerned with anti people enjoying than with preservation. Teddy Roosevelt would turn in his grave while puking to see these nature Nazis.
They have screwed up everything they have touched. Yellowstone nearly burned to the ground due to their prevention of brush fires. They nearly drove extinct the American Wolf by stupid banning of regulating them. Under their watch American Brown bears are extinct. What rangers they do have carry guns not cameras or specimen samples.
It is a horrible state that the Park Service is in. More permits for environmental hiking are denied than accepted yet the have tens of millions of "automobile" visitors a year.
Yes the police state of the Park Service needs to stop twittering and start firing bureaucrats. And they should be booted from DC as they are horrible stewards of our wondrous history.
I bet you do not know one thing about the Park Service other than smokey bear hats and internet propaganda, Look up their record of endangered species saving and shake your head.

Thanks. IMHO. I think The comparison was unfair since it was rainy and BO's was record breaking.  Perhaps see other Prez's swearing in as comparison?Perhaps there was simply more security and people didn't want to be frisked after 2 blocks?

I looked into this access of press deal. Nope Trump is not limiting access at all. He is in fact very much broadening it. The same old hacks that have been jaded by 30 yrs in the press corp are being made to share it with broader spectrum.  Wrong??

Trump supporters care about endangered species? The environment is a stupid thing to be caring about, isn't it? That's been my impression of them... Trump's low poll numbers don't matter, the huge protests don't matter. Subway sales were LOW.

This is disturbing. We've handed this country to a thin-skinned authoritarian. He's also acting as if he has something to hide. There's been a lot of talk that his moves mirror some proto-fascist tactic. The more he does this, the more I'm starting to see the validity of this accusation. Of course the Trump sheeple will see it in a different way and throw up all kinds of excuse for this behavior. Eventually they'll tire of that. But will that happen too late?

HRC lost the election, cheated Bernie Sanders out of the primary, and Obama made the MSM his bitch. Now they are biased against Trump and you are disturbed that Trump isn't MSMs bitch. wait 100 days then comment

I'm not waiting 100 days to watch this country become a fascist state, Brad. BTW, the MSM use to love Chump. It's when he started to censor that they finally started doing their job.

You stating I'm whining? Every time someone is critical of your lover boy Chump, you get a little bitchy. What's that saying about the pot and the tea kettle?  Zero accomplishment? Dude,  were you asleep at the wheel or are you just a denialist?

      Dean
Write a hub about all of his accomplishments, u can't do it because he doesn't have any for the country of the people. I think you are confused as to who was sleeping, or maybe in a coma. Put some specifics to ur whine.

When you do a search on Obama's accomplishments, many R written by hubbers. Here's a thorough one that isn't. Trump peeps see things as black & white - like a religion. Its bizzar & eye-opening. http://pleasecutthecrap.com/obama-accomplishmen

    15. Ericdierker profile image50
Ericdierkerposted 18 months agoin reply to this

Really you are going with that as some kind of truth? You believe it is not total non factual and cannot see that it is opinion not backed up by fact. When the brain becomes an app maybe folks like these will use it.

    16. Misfit Chick profile image74
Misfit Chickposted 18 months agoin reply to this

Fine. Do a search, there are many people who have detailed & listed them. They are not all identical - that doesn't mean he accomplished absolutely NOTHING. The point is, black & white is a bad way to look at the world & you all know it.

    17. Ericdierker profile image50
Ericdierkerposted 18 months agoin reply to this

You bob and you weave and good for you to deflect rather that confront. It is far more peaceful.
But a Google search of other folks that hold your Opinion does not create fact. Good for them and you. But it is reckless to expect others to respect it.

What's your problem, Eric? Do you think that people seeing things as black & white with no grey in between is a good idea? Do you believe Obama has done nothing for this country at all? What was your question about 'liking' both him & Trump,

Now why did Reynolds take the pic for comparison 2 hours before the event. And why would he use that white covering the ground instead of the obvious go to - Park Service green. I have never seen the NPS cover something in white.

Y were subway sales about the same as George2's 2nd term & lower than an average weekday? Y do people who have been there before say it was much less crowded with lots of empty bleachers along the parade? Y were protest marches bigger?

    7. Ericdierker profile image50
Ericdierkerposted 18 months agoin reply to this

Subways sales?? really? in that case what were taxi, bike rentals, 1 mile walkers, tour buses, vans. Avoiding the crunch of the subway stops near the mall makes perfect sense as was it when I was just there. Of course you know your facts are skewed.

Misfit Chickposted 18 months agoin reply to this

No 'white' is down, SUNGLARE! Other stuff doesn't put out stats, just metro. They have comparisons from the other years - Obama's 1st was LOTS & his 2nd was average for former presidents. Bush2's 2nd inaugration numbers were on par with Trumps.

    9. Ericdierker profile image50
Ericdierkerposted 18 months agoin reply to this

Catherine, come on. Who uses the Subway? Locals who are about 85% democrat. This has no bearing on numbers. And Yes, for the first time the NPS covered the mall with reflective white covering. To emphasize empty spaces. And photographed early.

    10. Misfit Chick profile image74
Misfit Chickposted 18 months agoin reply to this

WAIT I found! The mall was white! Its always covered but can't see it thru crowd, some white in other pic. Facts like subway tallies suddenly are meaningless this year - cuz its Trump. Find positive truths about Trump - then I'll listen.

Catherine I forgot this question is about hating Trump. Sometimes I get carried away in a search for truth and forget today's atmosphere is about hating one side of the other. 150 mil. Amers. invest in stocks. Stock at historic highs. Positive?

You are wrong Catherine. I point out less than factual arguments against a man, and call out hate when I see blind to fact one side biased comments. Not me who changed but the lack of civil discourse. You hate Trump. Just admit it. I call out hate.

Its a tactic: make his supporters believe that all media is bad, so he can claim 'they're being mean to me so I don't have to play with them'. He doesn't have to divulge anything - not even his income tax. He's done stunts like that over & over again long before he was in the presidential race - and his supporters are oblivious to it.

Yeah, scary. He's walking & talking fake news, in and of himself; and his supporters are just fine with it.

I certainly hope this is the last time people don't cast a vote just because they can see they are being manipulated. Figure it out and vote. Our votes obviously count, its essential.

I would love to know that those photos were taken at the exact same time prior to the ceremony, and not photo-shopped.

That aside, Trump is a Billionaire, how big of one I don't know... he has Trump towers all over the world, golf courses, businesses all over the world... so... he isn't broke.  He wasn't born into it... he made his name what it is... so I am going to go out on a limb here, and consider for a moment that he is not the buffoon he is portrayed to be, or even acts like at times.  And that means he has a plan, and most of what is going on is happening because he wants it to happen that way.

Chew on that for a while, and consider where things might lead.

Where will things lead... if someone were to follow up on Madonna's brilliantly and eloquently delivered speech about how to handle the problem?

Where will things lead... if the Democrats in Congress continue to throw a hissy fit and not approve any more of his appointees, or his Supreme Court nominee?

Or do we even care or consider the consequences anymore... what happens when the President is attacked by violence or Congress fails to do its job?

I could tell you, and it sure isn't going to bother Trump to enact the measures required to continue the Trump Train moving along...

Want to stop the Trump Train folks... then you better get to work on the 2020 election... anything else that is tried will end in failure, anything else will only do your causes far more harm than Trump will to them, if you just accept his Presidency as those who opposed Obama waited and accepted his.

That is the problem so many of his detractors are making, ah well, it is going to be their loss.  I never made that mistake with Obama, I knew he was smart (not as smart as he believes tho) I also knew his perceptions didn't reflect my own.
