   Why does Trump wants to cut off the public from government information? Scary or just Big Ego?
   
   Trump ban on social media and contact with reporters for all Fed agencies. The moves come after Trump was infuriated over inauguration image  comparison to Obama’s 2009 inauguration. The tweet was retweeted by the National Park Service (NPS).
   
   The Interior Department, which oversees the park service, was ordered last Friday to shut down its social media operations. Its accounts were quickly revived over the weekend.

   I was amazed at this comparison. So I dug further. The one on the right was taken about 4 hours before festivities. The one on the left was taken at the height of festivities. The white was to protect the lawn or maybe to present this picture more drastically. The Park Service lifers hate Trump. I think that their biased intercession is wonderful.
   And I think a revamping of their way top heavy bureaucracy needs a boot in the pants. They have more bureaucrats than rangers --- what the hell?!
   They restrict more activity than they allow.
   I am from the West and we see real clear the brutality of the Service toward users. The Forest Service makes them look like Neanderthals. They are much more concerned with anti people enjoying than with preservation. Teddy Roosevelt would turn in his grave while puking to see these nature Nazis.
   They have screwed up everything they have touched. Yellowstone nearly burned to the ground due to their prevention of brush fires. They nearly drove extinct the American Wolf by stupid banning of regulating them. Under their watch American Brown bears are extinct. What rangers they do have carry guns not cameras or specimen samples.
   It is a horrible state that the Park Service is in. More permits for environmental hiking are denied than accepted yet the have tens of millions of "automobile" visitors a year.
   Yes the police state of the Park Service needs to stop twittering and start firing bureaucrats. And they should be booted from DC as they are horrible stewards of our wondrous history.
   I bet you do not know one thing about the Park Service other than smokey bear hats and internet propaganda, Look up their record of endangered species saving and shake your head.

      Thanks. IMHO. I think The comparison was unfair since it was rainy and BO's was record breaking.  Perhaps see other Prez's swearing in as comparison?Perhaps there was simply more security and people didn't want to be frisked after 2 blocks?

   This is disturbing. We've handed this country to a thin-skinned authoritarian. He's also acting as if he has something to hide. There's been a lot of talk that his moves mirror some proto-fascist tactic. The more he does this, the more I'm starting to see the validity of this accusation. Of course the Trump sheeple will see it in a different way and throw up all kinds of excuse for this behavior. Eventually they'll tire of that. But will that happen too late?

      Subways sales?? really? in that case what were taxi, bike rentals, 1 mile walkers, tour buses, vans. Avoiding the crunch of the subway stops near the mall makes perfect sense as was it when I was just there. Of course you know your facts are skewed.

      No 'white' is down, SUNGLARE! Other stuff doesn't put out stats, just metro. They have comparisons from the other years - Obama's 1st was LOTS & his 2nd was average for former presidents. Bush2's 2nd inaugration numbers were on par with Trumps.

   Its a tactic: make his supporters believe that all media is bad, so he can claim 'they're being mean to me so I don't have to play with them'. He doesn't have to divulge anything - not even his income tax. He's done stunts like that over & over again long before he was in the presidential race - and his supporters are oblivious to it.

   I would love to know that those photos were taken at the exact same time prior to the ceremony, and not photo-shopped. 
   
   That aside, Trump is a Billionaire, how big of one I don't know... he has Trump towers all over the world, golf courses, businesses all over the world... so... he isn't broke.  He wasn't born into it... he made his name what it is... so I am going to go out on a limb here, and consider for a moment that he is not the buffoon he is portrayed to be, or even acts like at times.  And that means he has a plan, and most of what is going on is happening because he wants it to happen that way.
   
   Chew on that for a while, and consider where things might lead.
   
   Where will things lead... if someone were to follow up on Madonna's brilliantly and eloquently delivered speech about how to handle the problem?
   
   Where will things lead... if the Democrats in Congress continue to throw a hissy fit and not approve any more of his appointees, or his Supreme Court nominee?
   
   Or do we even care or consider the consequences anymore... what happens when the President is attacked by violence or Congress fails to do its job? 
   
   I could tell you, and it sure isn't going to bother Trump to enact the measures required to continue the Trump Train moving along...
   
   Want to stop the Trump Train folks... then you better get to work on the 2020 election... anything else that is tried will end in failure, anything else will only do your causes far more harm than Trump will to them, if you just accept his Presidency as those who opposed Obama waited and accepted his.
