What it is about women's bodies which were & still are threatening to the male societal dynamic? Religions have preached about women's bodies with the utmost purpose of controlling the latter. Women's bodies have always be subject to scrutiny by male culture, both religious & secular, particularly in terms of dress & reproductive issues. In many areas of the world, women's bodies are severely controlled by male culture & society. Women were instructed to be "modest" because of the belief that the female body was somehow threatening to the male aesthetic. Women's sexuality is a highly contentious subject in the male purview, especially the liberalization of gender & sexual roles for women. There are men who want to be dominant regarding roles & believe that women should be either in the subordinate role or silent. What it is about women's bodies that are threatening, unnerving, & even immobilizing to men?
Because men feel they are dominant, and don't want to be controlled by women. This may have to do with the subconscious desire for the left brain to be dominant over the right brain consciousness, which is more pronounced in men for the most part.
Men are physically bigger and more powerful than most women. They tend to be more aggressive. Women are more in need of assistance while pregnant and with small children. Men have been protectors of women for millenia.
I don't think men are threatened by women's bodies per se. but perhaps they are threatened by women's intelligence, which is the equal to men's. I think the insistence in some cultures for women to cover their bodies has more to do with the biological need to keep their sexual partners unavailable to other men.

Things Are The SameTo all feminists and neofeminists out there, the status of women have improved gradually over 4 decades since the advent of feminism in the late 1960s. Feminists such as Betty Friedan, THE FEMININE MYSTIQUE, and Gloria Steinem made women that there were roles outside...

When you care about being with someone but they are overly dominant.....I'm losing interest in someone like thatWhy would a smart, independent, healthy woman want a man who tells her what to do, how to spend her money, and complains a lot? I'm wondering if there really is any icing here for...
