    Is there a correlation between religiosity, ignorance, low self-esteem, & powerlessness? Does adherence to religion ENCOURAGE blind submission to authority & FROWN upon independent thought?  What is the correlation between religiosity & intellectual maturity levels?  Why are religious people less accepting, even fearful & threatened of change?  Are religious people more authoritarian in their relationship w/their families?

      Is there a correlation between religiosity and:
      Ignorance
      Low self-esteem
      Powerlessness

      Does it encourage:
      Blind submission to authority?
      Fear of change?
      Authoritarianism within family structures?

      Does it discourage:
      Independent thought
      Intellectual maturity?

      religiosity = adhering to religion

      GMW, According to my understanding, Religion and Education has the same bottom line meaning, to objectively observe, participate and reason the various outcomes for explaining to others which means to be educated or be religious man are liberated.

      As for ignorance with low self-esteem and powerlessness they are the results of schooling which is the means of getting man-en-mass to blindly follow leadership to their own demise like the USA's going to war behind lies.

      So, it is because what is called religion schools its followers that they become ignorance with low self-esteem and powerlessness, whereas Religion brings Intelligence, Self-esteem Power and Strength to stand alone against all opposition.

    What contributes to those things is a misunderstanding of religion.  When this misunderstanding is applied to children by their well meaning, but ignorant parents, yes, they will be shut down. They will be made to feel guilty, inadequate and powerless as they are instructed to submit to dominant forces whether a vengeful and jealous God, overly-strict Father, insensitive Mother, dominating Teachers or bullying Bosses and tyrannizing Government officials, on and on.

    We need to develop a proper understanding of spirituality and the core of our beings, (which is soul) as each of us have emerged from the bosom of a loving and wise God.

    When we are in touch with a feeling of true reverence for Our Creator and strive to cooperate with the laws of nature, we will progress spiritually. We will not be held back by false beliefs and restrictions. To know the truth sets us free. The possibilities become endless for those who become Self-realized through self-mastery and self-power. Self-realization leads to love and respect for our neighbors rather than fear, condemnation and hatred of them.
