When Donald Trump made a surprise 3-hour visit to troops in Iraq, he turned them into political props. In the process he took credit (not for the first time) for giving soldiers "their first raise in 10 years" (a lie).
He also said "They had plenty of people that came up, they said, 'You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3%, we could make it 2%, we could make it 4%,'" Trump told the troops about the latest pay raise. "I said, 'No. Make it 10%. Make it more than 10%.'" (another lie).
Two massive lies to our troops who are fighting and dying to protect America.
Why aren't Trump supporters screaming to high heavens about "Lyin' Trump"??
Out of curiosity, can you prove he didn't say that? Somewhere, to someone? Trump is known for his exaggerations. I've noticed no one on any front holds the people they support to the same standard as do their detractors.
The better question would be why do we all wear blinders.
I can prove he DID say that. Trump is also known for massive lying and even more massive habit of making False statements that he should know (unless he is mentally ill) aren't true.
As far as Trump goes, the only people wearing blinders are his cult like supporters.
Trump is mentally ill. It is obvious to those who are not wearing blinders.
If you can prove that he DID say "Give them 10%" (or a reasonable facsimile), why did you say he lied about saying it? Just who is lying here, anyway?
(I agree with LtL, though - that was the first thought that crossed my mind - does Esoteric have bugs on all of Trump's clothing or something, listening to every word he says wherever he is?)
Unfortunately for Bozo, everyone has a camera in this modern world and no, he's not invisible and he can't brainwash the masses into believing he didn't say what he actually said unless of course you happen to be one of his very few remaining followers hanging on to God knows what for God knows what dark unholy reason:
DESPICABLE Behavior: Impeachable Behavior: I count at least 4 blatant lies in this one minute film clip which clearly depicts what appears to be an astonishingly sick, babbling, considerably obese, unhealthy looking 72 year old:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t12atWTudk
Esoteric may be able to bug every word our president says. I flatly do not believe that YOU can. You just make it up out of thin air.
lol, sorry wilderness, it was not I who made this up because Bozo's LIES were captured right here on film by our troops and perhaps every major news outlet in the world, I simply posted the damning evidence of his sick babbling in this forum for your enjoyment and pleasure:
I would assume after his pathetic perhaps uncontrollable series of falsehoods about military pay, our troops might now be expecting a 10% raise instead of the much lower one they will actually receive in 2019 right ??
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t12atWTudk
I doubt he or any other Trumpeter will watch it. It might put a crack in their carefully crafted, big, beautiful wall of denial.
You're right there - there isn't much of anything Jake posts that is worth even a few seconds of consideration.
Massive name calling, hyperbole and outright lies have a tendency to produce that result.
Nope. Trump very seldom says anything I'm interested in. His continual chest beating and exaggerations are pretty off-putting for me. He is also deteriorating and falling into the common politician roll far too quickly for my taste; I voted for based on the fact he isn't "one of them", but he's getting there fast. Just another lying, thieving politician, albeit one that doesn't care to cover his tracks and is, for the most part, open in what he intends and does.
Then why are you questioning the accuracy and veracity of posters here if you haven't bothered to listen to the speech that is the subject of this thread?
lol, Short answer PP, because wilderness is apparently one of the last remaining Trump followers which obviously means the facts I post here are irrelevant to him so to distract, he resorts to false accusation against me which is a common response from most Trump followers:
LOL. Maybe they need to take that "carefully crafted, big, beautiful wall of denial" and place it along the Mexican border to keep out all those "bad Mexicans and other illegals." At least he would get his wall.
Picky, Picky. You know as well as I that Trump lied when he said HE gave the troops more than a 10% raise.
I read, which you obviously don't, read and LISTEN to the news; news from real news outlets and not propaganda outlets like Fox.
So, are you pretending Trump DIDN'T say that???? By the way, you did see the quotes around Trump's statement didn't you? You do know what those mean, don't you?
The primary difference between Trump and other politicians is he is not as adept at hiding himself when he lies. Its like smells in a public restroom. He just doesn't carry a spray can to cover up the underlying smell you know he's making, like other people carry.
More false comparisons Live to Learn ?? The other primary difference between Bozo Trump and other politicians is that Bozo is pathological at it, perhaps he can't stop and has told over 6,000 lies and counting according to those who are documenting the falsehoods uttered by this abominably sick old man:
There is ZERO comparison between any other politician and Bozo, he is the undisputed KING of Corruption and Lies and hopefully, God willing our country will only be required to endure his perpetual chaotic crisis for a short time longer as the LAW closes in on him:
Does it matter if he said it to someone, anywhere? He portrayed to the troops that he demanded a 10+% increase. He got 2.6%.
The military has received pay raises every year. That is contrary to Pres. Trump's statement.
It appears he requested a 2.1% increase, so where did this 10% stuff come from?
"First time in 10 years?" Can you defend and support that that is not a lie?
GA
I would not attempt to defend Trump, other than pointing out that I've lived long enough to hear a lot of politician's bull. The amount of affront I see at Trump doing the same as every other politician has done (albeit, with a unique Trump flare) is the only thing I question. Why do we allow lies to rule in Washington, yet get upset with an individual liar?
Trump is in his own category. I have lived long as well and have observed presidents and politicians since Eisenhower. Not one, not even Joe McCarthy or another demagogue Huey Long, has lied and told as many false statements as Trump has in 700 days.
It is not that most politicians, since they are people too, lie and mislead, it is that Trump has turned into a destructive art form. You lie and tell falsehoods. I lie and tell falsehoods but I bet you don't do it to the tune of 12 blatant ones A DAY.
You know who doesn't do what Trump does in politician land? Moderates, that is who. The more a politician moves to one side of the political spectrum, the number of false statements they tell goes up exponentially.
"Not one, not even Joe McCarthy or another demagogue Huey Long, has lied and told as many false statements as Trump has in 700 days. "
Are you sure? Without electronic media and the social platforms how would you know? Who would they lie to without the 24/7 recorders going? Who would hear of the lies?
We're in a very dark place when you're trying to compare the current oval office resident with Joe McCarthy: WoW: But at least Tiny Hands Trump is the undisputed KING of something and many of his lies pertain to very serious subjects which could trigger nuclear conflicts etc: Aside from the criminal investigations, he could and should be impeached for breaching his oath of office by telling an unprecedented critical mass of lies which indicates to psychiatric experts there must be something seriously out of wack upstairs where a normally functioning brain usually lives:
"President Trump has made 6,420 false or misleading claims over 649 days"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics … 2fc6644577
I'd have to say Trump is no worse than you are. For instance, I didn't compare Trump to McCarthy: the text you are looking at was a quote from someone else. Yet here you are, insinuating it came from me...exactly as you whine about Trump doing.
lol, yeah wilderness, he must be rubbing off on you which is scary because that sounds just like Bozo Trump's excuse that he wasn't actually the originator of the TWEET, he just RE-Tweeted a quote by Benito Mussolini:
Wait until our troops get their usual pay raise in 2019 instead of what Bozo told them he'd get for them and wait until government workers begin getting default notices because Bozo is halting operations and holding back their pay checks due to threats from Rush Limpy and Ann "Weirdo" Coulter while Vladimir Putin wallows in joyful celebration:
No wonder this fool can't seem to fill a large auditorium for a veterans event , no wonder he got crushed in the midterms and no wonder he and now his mate Melanie keep SINKING in approval ratings : Seriously, how many MORE reasons do his last remaining followers need to despise and obstruct this creep who could care less about them ??
Nothing less than DISGUSTING and Despicable:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t12atWTudk
Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing, or do you truly believe that is a legitimate question?
It is a legitimate question. We hear far more words from Trump than we ever did from much earlier figures, and personal spin/opinion hundreds of times on social media about those same words that we never did before - why then the assumption that others did not lie just as much? Simply because we heard nothing from them and thus assume they said nothing?
Have you ever known another human being to lie so much, in any sphere of your life? I haven't, and I have a brother with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, a drug addicted stepson, and an alcoholic uncle, all of whom were/are habitual liars but not even on the same planet as DJT.
Yes, I have. Have you ever made such an effort to conclude that everything said is a lie? You don't give any leeway at all, taking errors, exaggerations and political rhetoric ALL as a lie - have you ever gone to such lengths before to convince yourself that everything said is a lie? Like others I see in life an on the web, you allow your hatred to overrun common sense.
Wow. So ridiculously wrong, I can't even laugh.
I had a long time friend as well who had NPD. Most of what I saw in him, I see in Trump, except the serial lying.
As to making an effort, yes. There are many, many sites you can go to, including my own, where each falsehood or lie is documented and laid side-by-side with the truth.
I don't have to convinceIt is obvious to anyone who does a modicum of research.
That's great! You have experience with a single person with NPD and that gives you the ability to diagnose someone else without ever conducting an examination.
I trust you understand just how silly that sounds.
As far as making an effort, the question was has PP (or you) ever put such massive effort into turning whatever is said into a lie if it isn't absolute, undeniable Truth with a capital T. Of calling mistakes a LIE. Or an exaggeration, Or political puffery. All of anyone else, not Trump.
Did you write a hub about the lies Obama told, spinning what wasn't a lie into one so it could be included in the hub? Did you actively and desperately search for his words that you could turn into a lie? Did you spend hours on the web, looking at what everyone else called a lie from Obama and re-post it? THAT was the question.
I trust you understand just how silly your comment sounds given that is probably one more person than you know plus I have read one book authored by 27 different psychiatrists and other mental health care professionals as well as many articles that come to the same conclusion. Trump is dangerously mentally ill. I will put their credentials up against yours any day.
And no, as I told you before, they don't have to personally sit down with Trump to make such an assessment. 50 years of books, writings, speeches, radio programs, and newspapers is quite sufficient to come to that conclusion with somebody so overtly sick.
No, I didn't write a hub about the lies Obama told; it would be too short to be allowed on hubpages.
As to spinning Trump's words into lies - it is not necessary. As to turning whatever Trump says into a so-called lie (only you use that word exclusively, we don't) or FALSEHOOD, again no effort is needed; Trump does it for us. Further, while you might, I don't actively search for anybody's words - again, in the case of Trump, there is an 80% chance that if he opens his mouth, a false statement will be uttered.
It would really help, WIlderness, when you quote us, you quote everything. Don't take just one word out several and make a faux mountain out of it. When you use lie, you need to add the other word(s) we do, mainly false and sometimes partially false. By focusing on just the lie, your credibility goes to hell in a handbasket.
So Wilderness, your experience with Obama was that he lied at the same rate as Trump? I find this hard to believe. Generally, I found Obama tried to tell the truth, but if you have some examples, I'd love to see them. I'm sure the first one you will point to, because every Republican everywhere points to it is this one: "You can keep your doctor." Would I be right about that?
Saying something that you think will be true that doesn't turn out to be true or is true for some people and not for others, is not the same as just throwing out factual inaccuracies, like "I gave the troops a 10% raise".
I'm genuinely curious because I know we live in different realities, but what are some of the memorable Obama lies that really stick with you? Can you come up with 10, because with Trump, I can quickly come up with several hundred.
"So Wilderness, your experience with Obama was that he lied at the same rate as Trump?"
Can you show where I either said or even implied that? What's happened in these forums that simple words are changed to something they never were, all to promote hatred of your president?
From my point of view, you responded to somebody's questioning of Trump's truthfulness by asking if he had written a similar thing about Obama. This creates an equivalency.
Again, we live in different realities, so I'm just going to accept that.
Anyway, which of Obama's lies were especially memorable to you?
Have you heard of a woman known as Hillary Clinton? There was this thing called Benghazi and so many other things during here professional career. She ran for president and luckily did not get elected.
lol, YES we have and nobody cares about her because there were about 800 investigations by rabid, corrupt republicans and ZERO charges filed:
Still using that old tired "Hillary" talking point thing ? No wonder repugnantkins were decimated in the midterms and will again be decimated in 2020:
Because that would have been part of the extensive narrative on McCarthy, and it wasn't.
I'd have to question the veracity of that. Prior to the internet, few words of politicians were easily available to the masses. I doubt you heard 2% of everything Eisenhower uttered.
Hes a disgusting embarrassment. I think we should hold him to that 10% raise that he is on record as supporting. Chuck and Nancy should propose it.
Trump is a peculiar person don't know what to talk!
This poster isn't someone a body should ever take seriously. Politics are for adults, persons who've experienced real things, and have the ability to think deeply about stuff. This post seems aimed at children. Like a CNN post would be.
Y'all have become so ridiculous all I can do is laugh at the lot of you.
Yeah, I can tell you are a very deep thinker given you will follow Trump to hell (but not back). There is a reason why more college educated folk voted for someone else other than Trump.
You mean like a Fox newscast of fake news?
