Why do some Americans expect politicians to rescue them & grant them opportunities? Why do these same Americans refuse to realize that THEY have created their own problems & realize that THEY ALONE are responsible for the problems they have created? Are these Americans that infantile to see politicians as their parents instead of taking responsibility to solve their own problems?
I think it is because politicians everywhere (not just American) make false promises during the election and do their best to convince voters that they are going to be taken care of despite their lack of efforts.
Yes, I am thinking about the "living wage", the $1000 a month for everyone, the promises by people like Bernie Sanders.
In my own country (Brazil) our current administration is trying to dig itself out of the hole that the socialist (PT, the Workers Party) government established. They are trying to raise the retirement age and cut a lot of things (like disability for drug addicts, monthly minimum wage salaries for prisoners), and of course that is the best way to get a lot of hate.
I have a minor in history, mostly Russian and Soviet history, and I've been to that country and have interviewed several of the working class who are trying to figure out how we ever lived under capitalism. They were having a hard time accepting the idea of personal responsibility since most of them had never experienced it. As a result, I would never, ever, vote for a Socialist in this country. I see our young trying to make the same mistakes that the Marxist-Leninists made in the early 20th Century. Before anyone attempts to correct me, yes, I do know the difference between socialism and communism. I just want to see that movement stopped before it gets to the communist level. Premier Nikita Kruschev did say that they would bury us from within.

I used to be a Republican. Staunchly. But, the sensible and fiscally responsible Republican party of my youth has been hijacked by a bunch of hypocritical shirt sleeve Christians whose greed and envy drives their opinions. Who can't keep their own houses in order so they attempt to bemoan that by...

The primary purpose of our federal government - in fact any government - is to manage the country. As a voting public it is our responsibility to elect people who are willing to do that job and capable of doing that job. We have failed miserably in our responsibility. Practically none of our...

Broward County FL in 2016 caught on video cheating, making up false ballots. And the same county, with the same people running the election, are at it again, tonight, trying to steal the election. Literally creating ballots AFTER the election was over last night, and refusing to report to the...
