On August 13, 2020, President Trump brokered a historic diplomatic breakthrough that will aid in advancing peace in the Middle East region. This is a testament to the president's bold diplomacy and vision for what he hoped to accomplish in regard to the Middle East.  The three leaders showed courage and worked together to charter a new path for the United Arab Emirates and Israel to unlock the great potential in the region. President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and UAE leader Mohammed Bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, finalized the terms of the agreement — to be known as the "Abraham Accords"  in a nod to the patriarch of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths

Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed to a historic deal to normalize their long-strained relations. In a surprise announcement on Thursday, the US, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates put out a joint statement outlining how the two Middle Eastern nations will develop ties in numerous areas including investment, security, tourism, technology, and energy, and will establish formal embassies in each other’s countries.

However, highlighted in the agreement was trade: As the statement lays out, Israel will “suspend declaring sovereignty over” parts of the West Bank that it had previously expressed intentions to annex. In exchange, the UAE will treat Israel as it would any other country it has friendly relations with — making it only the third Arab country to have such open relations with Jerusalem.

This historic breakthrough could work to bring peace in a region that has long been plagued with unrest, and violence. It is a real testament to what can be done when trust is built between leaders, and a will to sit down and solve a long time difficult problems. The three leaders showed fortitude and courage, and have unlocked great potential in the region and bring peace to its people.

The Abraham Accords is a historic agreement, and it's unfortunate that it seems to have gone almost unnoticed by the general media, receiving little coverage. Although, It's an accomplishment that President Trump can add to his many foreign policy accomplishments.

What are your thoughts on Trump's foreign policy record in general?

I have added an article that provides a good condensed version of President Trump's foreign policy history. https://www.cfr.org/timeline/trumps-for … cy-moments

This is a great event and proves that Donald Trump knows how to get about things. Many presidents have tried to bring about peace between the Arabs and Israel but they failed. Trump has brokered a great deal for peace in the Middle East which is getting greatly polarised with the rise of Iran as a belligerent power. The Arabs in particular UAE and Saudi Arabia have come to the conclusion that is better to make peace with Israel than to continue hostility which leads nowhere. President Trump can put himself on the back for this achievement but I wonder whether it will improve his chances in the coming November election.

I have prayed for this kind of peace in the middle east for many years. And many have made attempts to broker such peace and failed. I also have followed President Trump's foreign policy actions, I think he has done a superb job. Not sure how the election will go, I would hope he wins, and we will have four more years of America moving forward, and becoming a better nation. Hopefully, more citizens will do their homework, and keep Trump in office. Although, it is easy to see many in America have been well dummied down, so it will be interesting to see what would become of America under a socialist-leaning president.
