Biden's cabinet picks

   What are your thoughts on Biden's cabinet picks? As a Biden voter, are you satisfied? Pleased? Disappointed? As a Biden detractor or conservative voter, do you find them to be reasonable and/or acceptable? Are you feeling comfortable, or are you worried about how progressive his picks are? Does anyone stand out for any reason, good or bad?

   I am pleased with the level of experience and competence he is bringing to his cabinet. I think he is also fulfilling his promise of diversity.  Other than that, I am now in wait-and-see mode.

      As an individual who remains mostly disconnected from such issues except to stir the proverbial poo-pot of worthless internet debate, I'd like to say that I am excited for what our next alleged-pedophile POTUS is bringing to the table. He seems to be choosing individuals to guide him that would almost be better choices for the POTUS position than as advisors, and I think that is a good sign of someone knowing where things need to stand.
      
      However, this could also be an incorrect judgement if these choices were made on the grounds of diversity alone, and/or the titles and positions these individuals have held are nothing more than a show. I know I've worked in diversity-centric workplaces where very little work gets done due to culture clash, and culture clash without progress seems to be the modus operandi of the US government.
      
      Seems status quo to me! Looking forward to eight years of doom and gloom from the right as always comes about in the news and social media, and then more diversity and inclusion as defined and offered by the left. Should be an interesting time.

         Your perspective seems quite balanced and I agree with most of it. I will say all of his picks seem deserving regardless of diversity. And, I believe diversity is a requirement for good governing.

      I think that many of Biden's picks may be a bit conservative and cautious as to his fear that their would not pass muster in a Republican controlled Senate

      In my view, he seems to be leaning on people he feels very comfortable with, people he met during his years in Washington, many former Obama appointees.  So far the majority of his picks are moderate, and well suited to the jobs he selected them for. (no not all). I will take a pass on adding predictions on the job performance of his candidates.  A few of his selections may have ideologies that will be in opposition to his own. But, he seems to be trying to build a diverse cabinet. I don't feel his choices are progressive, I see most as moderate, right down the middle of the road. I will agree that most have good levels of experience. I think he selected people he trusts, people that have been in Washington for some time and are well seasoned.

      Joe Biden is considering Bib Iger for Ambassador to China. In my view, if he goes with Iger there could be a problem with conflict of interest.
      
      Iger donated $255,000 to Biden’s campaign Victory Fund during election season. Iger is Executive Chairman of The Walt Disney Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He assumed the role of Executive Chairman in February 2020, having served as Chief Executive Officer since 2005. And Disney also owns  ESPN. To make this comment short ---  Disney does lots of business with China. And this alone makes me very unhappy to see  Bob Iger as an Ambassador.

         Biden appoints Jennifer Granholm for Chief of Energy Department. AOC will love this... She is all about the new green deal.
         
         Jennifer Granholm’s Legacy Up For Debate... IMO as a Michigan resident that is well acquainted with  Granholm I say this appointment is a big mistake. She was a disaster. for Michigan, A do nothing Governor that was in over her head.  But, who knows maybe older but wiser.

            Another Obama appointees get picked to serve under Biden. It is well appearing Biden is continuing to copy cat, Obama... I had hoped he would pick new fresh people, not run of the mill Washington .bureaucrats.
            
            President-elect Joe Biden has picked Kathleen Hicks, a former Pentagon official under President Obama, to serve as deputy secretary of defense. If confirmed, she would make history as the first woman to hold the No. 2 Pentagon job.
