This thread is created in response to a comment by ABWilliams

First, one needs to understand that Trump is not the face of the Republican Party, he is a rogue entity that the RNC will do its best to distance from in the future, without losing that block of voters to call their own.

To repeat what I stated, for clarification in this thread, Trump was an aberration, which is why he was villainized throughout the MSM as well as DC... it is why there were a record number of Republicans that left office in Congress in 2018 allowing for a Democrat take-over... it is why Democrat Governors went full-tilt lock-down and were willing to destroy their States if need be, while blaming it all on Trump.

Whether you liked Trump or loathed him, he was NOT part of the Establishment, he was a rogue entity that had almost no support within DC or without.  Other than the people who voted for him.

How quickly people forget just how hard the Republican Party fought giving Trump the nomination, how he had no support from those in Congress as he ran, how Romney and others spoke out against him even as he was certain to claim the nomination.

The mainstream Democrats and the mainstream Republicans are essentially part of the same party within DC and Congress, then there are outliers, be they Trump Republicans, or TeaParty Republicans or Socialist Democrats or AOC type revolutionaries.

Its the Big Tent in the Circus, it houses all sorts, but at its core... of both parties... is the establishment that serves the interests of International Corporations, Banking and Financial institutions... first and always.

Politics themselves... what is fed to the masses... is the window dressing, the onstage drama fit for public consumption.  It is designed to keep the people fighting one another, believing in "their side" or "their cause" and wanting to defeat the opposition.

And today's America has never been more polarized or tribal, even the most just and worthy causes are incorporated into the deluge of endless rants and struggles so that none gain any more ground than the "Establishment" is willing to allow.

Never more proof of this than the fact that trillion dollar corporations have become the face and peddlers of current Social Justice trends, profiting as they posture.

Meanwhile the most vocal of them in our society are the ones most likely to be using slave camps in China to produce their goods, or worker camps in Africa to mine their metals, etc. etc.

The point of all this... there is no difference between the 2 parties... they essentially serve the same masters... their job, is to convince enough Americans that they don't, that they represent the people, fight for them, and convince them that the other party is the cause of their problems.

It would be very hard to disagree with anything you stated. It speaks to my common sense and hits me right between the eyes.  I watched it all happen, and have sat in disbelief for many years.

I had hope that some new blood in the Republican party would perhaps steady the ship. But my better common sense tells me the majority are very much satisfied with moving to a socialist system.

I will plug along and point out each and every problem this new administration dishes up.  I will keep a sliver of hope that more citizens see that American democracy is worth saving.

I think it more likely that there is a growing majority of Americans that will be content with a "Global Outlook" and are fine giving up on "Nationalism".

We are more than a couple generations now where the majority never Pledged Allegiance, never practiced a moments silence in school, and we have tens of millions of new Americans that are first generation and have no connection to "old values" or "American ideals".

We see rampant Nationalism being practiced and its propaganda pushed non-stop in China, not America.  Those days are long gone for the US of A.

True. We know the system is screwed. But all the rhetoric does nothing. What is the solution? Action speaks louder than words. Do something!

      Why would I do something?

Recognizing the reality for what it is, frees me from being involved in "politics".  That is the biggest step I can take for myself, that is the most useful thing I can do for others, exposing this reality.

That is not to say one shouldn't be involved in LOCAL or STATE politics, these are the places where one can make a difference in one's own life.

But there is no movement that will change the International pull/control over our Federal Government.

More to the point, what exactly is going to be put in its place, and how devastating to the populace would this effort actually be?

A thread in my honor....you aren't the first, but you are the kindest. smile

I don't just talk the talk, the last local meeting I attended was an attempt to get masks off of our school children, so that they could enjoy the last couple of weeks of school breathing-in fresh air and freedom! We weren't successful, but we sure gave it a good go. We will be back in June to make sure that masks aren't re-introduced next school year. For you see, the school board members remain in a state of confusion, while all of us attendees were unmasked, the board members had their masks on, then off, then halfway on...then off again, back on...they weren't sure whether they should be working at saving their seat or remain beholden to the Teacher's Union.

The several meetings before that, was in an effort to save a rural wilderness area that developers are eyeballing. We have a law in place, voted on many years ago, in an effort to protect this land, but trust me when I say, there is a constant effort and backroom deals (no doubt) to get around it. We can never let our guard down. So far, our County Commission is standing strong, they have been properly vetted.

I was involved and supported a group called the Walk a Way Campaign, made up of FED-UP DEMOCRATS, Trump helped them to see the light. As far as they are concerned, he is the face of the Republican Party! I watched their numbers grow, until FB removed them, but that doesn't mean that their resolve has been removed. On the contrary, we have not heard the last from them.

I know we are facing a Global Goliath, but I refuse to become a hand-wringer, accepting some inevitability about our future.

That is where to make a positive impact, local politics, local issues.

If one doesn't pay attention to what is going on in their own community, county and state, before you know it the State, County, Community is controlled by those that will destroy it.

Too few people pay attention to issues that are presented during elections, last year our State had SIX constitutional amendments to vote on, I doubt half of those who voted knew what they were about.

Citizenship Requirement to Vote and Voter Approval of Constitutional Amendments were voted on last election, two years before that they tried to pass an amendment that would have made it practically illegal to put a solar power system on your home, the power companies would have gained control over all solar systems, the power companies spent a lot on ad campaigns to make it sound like it was a good thing, trying to trick the voters.

Unfortunately the Federal Government is a lost cause, if it wasn't back in JFK's days it certainly is today.

And I think the inability of people to "gather" and "Unify" on facebook, twitter, or any other social media will ensure this continues.

We are instilling our own version of Newspeak in the country.

In the novel 1984, the ruling Socialist Party created and enforced Newspeak a controlled and restricted vocabulary that was designed to limit the individual's ability to think and articulate "subversive" concepts such as personal identity, self-expression and free will.  Such concepts were criminalized as thoughtcrime since they contradicted the prevailing Party ideology.

We are going about it in a different way in America, using the blanket of Social Justice to hide these restrictive changes under.  With the complicit aid of the most powerful corporations today (Google, Facebook, etc.).
