Democrats remain in trouble for 2022.

"Apolitical shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.

More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by the Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since Joe Biden succeeded Donald Trump as president.

Nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump's Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties in areas such as Denver, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Republicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pa.; Raleigh, N.C.; Augusta, Ga.; and Des Moines."

It will be very interesting to see what happens after the Roe vs Wade decision filters through.

I don't think it will change much.

The populations that believe and are devoted to abortions have not changed.

The populations that are against abortion also has not changed.

I don't think it will have much of an impact.  I don't really believe much has changed.

It is going to be interesting indeed.  I believe that the shift will be to democratic/ liberal ideas.   No one in his/her logical mind will adopt regressive ideas after the overturning of Roe vs Wade.

It appears the polling is against what you are thinking on the topic.

"Democrats-turned-Republicans reveal reasons for party switch: 'They stopped listening to the people'"

More than one million Americans have switched their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican in the last 12 months, signaling a possible red wave to come this November.

Dorchester County, South Carolina council member Harriet Holman and former Cincinnati sheriff Jim Neil joined "Fox & Friends First" early Tuesday to explain their own reasons for making the switch.

"[The Democratic Party] went wrong when they stopped listening to the people, when they continued to give out instead of giving a hand up… and it's going to cost taxpayers so much money in the future that our children are going to be paying for all this free money that's being given out right now," Holman said.

If it turns out to be true, I would not be surprised.
