In your opinion, what is the state of America now?  Do you believe that America has worsened?  Why?   Do you believe that America is in decline?  Do you believe that the cultural divide will widen even more?

Have not seen two groups of people labeled and divided as much as left and right wing in my life. It's why I don't  subscribe to either. I used to be a classic  liberal and today liberal have literally gone Madd.

The only group of people I belong to is the optimist Club. I judge people as individuals not by their group or by their association. Every group are basically good individuals with a few bad apples. Can learn from some of their good bits, yet  won't join their sheep hood.

Well yeah; at the moment the America people are bitterly divided, which will cause it's decline if attitudes don't change.

UK is the American best friends and war buddies even though Canada trades more than all of Europe with the US. UK Olympic mascot of the all seeing eye, was freakiest mascot I ever did see.

Every social pathology has grown by leaps and bounds over the last fifty years of progressive reign, with its goals of destroying faith in God, destroying the family, and destroying love of country.

The United States of America is in a sad, sad state and declining, "worsening" by the day.
Something will have to take up the slack of what was once known as American exceptionalism/ patriotism; so yes there will be a widening cultural divide, among other widening, destructive divides.
I don't know what is in store for my grandchildren, if this is allowed to fester, but it won't be good. They'll never know the America of my childhood and they may not be able to learn about it. Leftists, Marxists, progressives are much too busy working to destroy any and all good news about America. They must continue have it appear as the worst place on earth, in order to replace it with what they feel is utopia where there is no law and order and anything goes! Unless it has anything to do with patriotism, RIGHTS, independence, entrepreneurialism, belief/faith in something much bigger than any one of us, pride (well, trans pride will be perfectly acceptable) but not pride in Country or in accomplishment.
I am picturing the underworld in the movie 'Escape from New York', with each new word that I type.

I would love to put all the bankers and Government servants on an island to see what happens.  These warlock morlocks would have to eat each other, because they have no good people to parasite from.

Good news, abuse always hits its  ceiling,  then tragedy turn to more the happier energy and freedoms.

Nice picture, to capture the emotion of the times?

I like try to compare current situations to past historical situations to better understand where we are as a nation and society.

To understand America's current situation, one also has to consider other powerful nations and their impact on America as well.

I think the best comparison historically, to America's current state and the path it is on, would be the declining period of the Roman empire, prior to the expansion of the "Barbarians" the Goths, Germans, etc. as well as forces rising out of the East.

China is a rising power with goals very similar to America's during its Manifest Destiny stage, its stated goal is to overthrow and supplant America from its position of supremacy within the next 20 years.

While China is focused on that, the Western powers are focused on bringing a borderless world into existence, and are focused on demolishing the few remaining nation states that are resistant to this (Russia, Syria, etc.) so it will be interesting to see how this effort clashes with China's determination to become global ruler... or if they will be incorporated, and the West chooses to bow to China's authority and demands... if not, a war with China and its allies is a certainty.

Morally, culturally, America is in chaos, this is by design and the divisions will continue to be reinforced, emphasized and coerced by the MSM as well as political and governing bodies.

Neither foreign powers (IE - China) or controlling powers within DC want a unified American populace.  They want Americans compliant, or at the very least divided and confused.

** In your opinion, what is the state of America now?
In "my opinion", which means from my very own perspective and no one else, thus is based on my beliefs forming my reality the state of America now is at a cross road. However, it is not a choice between going right, left, forward, backward, or simply sitting in one place. It is multi-dimensional having more opportunities than any other time in history.

Interestingly, today, as compared to history the opportunities each are more directly related to one another or other opportunities. They are interrelated as never before, therefore with some they can be labeled imperative while others are a matter of adjusting to the change caused by accepting the responsibility of  the opportunity with commitment and dedication. And, for those with an open mind there most certainly is Hope.

** Do you believe that America has worsened?
As compared to what and what topic. Politically yes and no. Scientifically it is expanding exponentially and at a quick rate. Technology pretty much the same. It could be said with those two it may be overwhelming as well as expensive, thus may be construed as worsening in an odd sense. Interestingly, a by product is the individual is challenged to Learn no matter economic position, status in society, or chosen belief system.

      ** Why?
One could say it is the evolution of man. Or, one can say it is divine providence. Maybe it is the continuous nature vs. nurture at play while wondering the complexity seeking simplicity of is nature nurturing man or  is man nurturing nature. Another may say it is the grand scheme of the cosmos as the universe expands through nothingness becoming more something.

** Do you believe that America is in decline?
      Nope!!!

** Do you believe that the cultural divide will widen even more?
What culture? Regional? Language? Heritage? Religion? Education? Career/industry? Music? Book and film genre? And, on and on it goes . . .

Technological advances have often been the catalyst to the relatively quick fall of one "empire" and the rise of another.

In context of the question, I believe a focus on America's future is not the same as humanity's future.  America may decline at great expense to its people... but humanity on the whole may move forward by leaps and bounds.

Interesting perspective, you are very positive during a time when we are teetering on yet another "global war".

Interesting! Thanks! One perspective regard the fall of an 'empire' is each time there is change from one political party to another in control of congress or presidency there is a fall of an empire and a rise to another.

I think that in the past this may have been truer than the in recent years.

Since the Bush Sr. Administration it has been more of a relay handoff than a change of power and direction.

The exception, the break in this continuity, was the 4 years of Trump.

All the campaigning and promises to rescind NAFTA, to derail China's trade status, to be rid of the ACA, no matter what party had control, no matter who was President, there was no change... only lip service... until eventually it became accepted that it was never going to be changed.

NAFTA was modified by Trump, the ACA was modified by Trump, other than that no Party and no President ever did squat to change anything no matter how much change there was to the party in charge or the political cost.

Same can be said for Foreign Affairs, America's march to undermine all former Soviet supporting Nations continued through Bush Sr. to Obama, and only halted during Trump, to be picked back up again in Ukraine by Biden.

Short view --- I honestly feel America is on its way to a great awakening. People have become very aware that the country is in trouble, and are starting to see that Government has taken us down the wrong path, and we need to quickly detour off this path. So, I think we may be on the way out of the smoke.

Yes, America is in a decline, it has really stood to make citizens wake up, and start demanding change.

Yes, the divide will continue. It is a painful fact that many will be very dissatisfied one way or the other.
