    Paper ballots

    Closed border

    It's that simple.

The border isn't "open" that's a GOP talking point that people have latched on to rather than actually research our immigration laws. Immigration law has not changed in decades. Title 8 immigration is the law of the land, it was under Trump and continues to be so under Biden. Maybe try to look at some of the changing factors over time that influence immigration, the so-called push and pull factors of immigration. This mantra of open borders is really getting so tiresome.  It really does a disservice to such a complex issue but I guess it's all most Americans understand.

Then why are the border agents being forced to cut barbed wire fences to let in illegal immigrants? And why have more than five million illegal aliens flooded in during the last three years? Why are they being housed and taken care of in many hotels in sanctuary states across the nation?
In San Diego, they are allowed to devour the continental breakfasts every morning for three days and are then bussed to other hotels. In New York they have been occupying various hotels for months.
And are they the slightest bit grateful?
No.  According to one hotel worker, they are unruly, slovenly, disrespectful and ill mannered, carrying guns, dealing drugs and physically abusing each other in brawls and domestic violence. Anyone can see what is really happening by accessing You Tube videos and reading/hearing the News.

Fences get cut when there is a risk of people being entangled in them. I'm sorry but nothing you have posted has to do with actual immigration law. Title 8 that has remained unchanged for decades. Have the numbers arriving at the border risen and fallen over time? Yes certainly that has to do with a multitude of factors but still the factory means our laws have not changed. I really encourage you to read the laws

You can have all the laws you want.  If they're not enforced, they're meaningless.

How do you explain the increase in illegal immigration?

"Shocking 3.8 million migrants have entered US since Biden took office — 1.5 million sneaked in and are still here

A jaw-dropping 3.8 million people have entered the United States through its borders since President Joe Biden took office in 2021 — nearly half of whom slipped into the country illegally and were never caught.

Over the last three years, 2,345,600 people have been granted Notices to Appear (NTAs) before an immigration court, according to figures compiled by Syracuse University’s TRAC immigration database.

NTAs are issued to people who arrive on US soil, hand themselves in to Border Patrol and claim asylum. If they are deemed to potentially have a case, they are assigned a hearing — often years in advance — where a judge will determine if they can remain in the country or will be deported. The filings provide an accurate picture of the number of migrants entering the country.

Over 1.23 million of those NTAs were issued in the Department of Homeland Security’s financial year 2023 alone, which runs from October 1 to September 30.

Those numbers are far from the full picture of people entering the country. Over the past three years more than 1.5 million so called “gotaways” — those who Customs and Borde Protection estimate have made it across the border into the country with being detected or caught — and those numbers have also steadily been increasing year-by-year.

Paper ballots: Remember the hanging chads? There are other disadvantages to paper ballots, too. In my only stint as a poll watcher, the election sheriff explained to the line of voters that they MUST RETURN THE BALLOT TO HER. She would then tear off the stub and deposit the ballot in one box and the stub with the corresponding number into another box. When the ballots were counted, each ballot had to have a corresponding stub to be legal. But an elderly man decided he was competent to do it all by himself. He ran past her and shoved the whole ballot into the box without removing the stub. The extra length jammed the box, and a technician was called in to fix the paper jam, and until the ballots could be properly filed into the box, no one could vote. It took about two and one half hours for the technician to arrive and unjam the box. During that time there was much grumbling and false accusations of "they're trying to rig the election." No, they weren't because the repair took place under the watchful eyes of the election sheriff, two poll watchers and other election officials, as well as the people waiting to vote. Finally the box was fixed and voting was resumed. I don't see how anyone in his right mind could see any way to rig an election when nobody was voting because a long sheet of paper was sticking out of the ballot box.

Closed border: I'm not a Republican, but I have to agree with them and anyone else who doesn't like to see our country overrun with people trying to enter this country illegally. This isn't the 18th Century anymore. We have enough of our own "poor huddled masses" to keep taking in everyone else's oppressed. It is driving us into becoming a third world country. What are the oppressed in other countries going to do when we can no longer help them because we can't help ourselves?

No, it really isn't that simple.

If there were 2.2 million in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2023, that they are reporting... where on earth are they coming up with a measly 3.8 million for his entire time in office so far?

He has averaged well over 2 million a year... that was reported.

That is almost the entire year of 2021, the entire year of 2022, and this year.

Well hell, by this time next year, as we ready to vote in November, they will have that number down to less than 3 million for his whole 4 years I'm sure.

They will call it BidenBoders... just as real and factual as Bidenomics... and you know, there will be plenty of Americans that buy it too.

EDIT... now you have me digging.

Biden was inaugurated Jan. 20, 2021. From February 2021 through August 2023, there were about 7.2 million encounters across all points of entry nationwide, CBP’s data shows.

Aug 31, 2022 · In fiscal year 2021, which included Mr. Biden's first eight full months in office, Border Patrol recorded 1.66 million arrests along the southern border.

May 9, 2023 · For more comparison, the 6.3 million (known) illegal immigrants who've entered the United States since Biden took office is equal to the entire population of El Salvador.

October 30, 2023 07:50 AM. ( The Center Square) – More than 10 million people have been reported illegally entering the United States since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021,

Like I said, they'll have the "official numbers" below 3 million prior to election day, I'm sure.
