What ARE you EVER talking about? To start with ... can you please explain the "burdens" of the past and exactly what they are?

Well, interesting and informative as HubPages is, I don't think she'll be answering this post any time soon.
So, any guesses as to what she is EVER saying, what she (truly) believes and what sort of presidency she wants to create?

Defining Blackness: Real Talk with Kamala Harris and Uncle Luke
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afIy2rDVecI
Questions for Kamala based on the video:
1. 16:00 ~ What does SUCCESS look like today?
2. 14:00 ~ "... POVERTY is trauma inducing!" How do we eliminate poverty?
3. 9:01 ~ The black population has PTSD based on what type of "INJUSTICE?"
How can it be dealt with?
4. Why do you believe that "the war on drugs was a failure and criminalized a public health issue." How can we address this "public health issue?"
5. 22:10 to end is surprising:
"Massive incarceration has to be ended."
"We need to to take the profit out of the prison system."
The "Back on Track" program (created by Kamala) was to reform prosecutors and police.
Dear Kamala,
What you do not understand is this: Reforms MUST start in early childhood. Once a child is fifteen years of age, he is set. His environment has created his psyche.
If you just excuse these people who, through no fault of their own, were born into PTSD ridden families, you are not going to help them.
The help must come by way of morals, rules, hard work and clean living. Self-discipline and self-mastery begins in the home. When parents instill good values and habits, THEY help produce the honor students you talk about.
Not Utopian programs.
On the other hand, maybe wide range reform is in order. Perhaps you can do some good, if you were allowed to have the influence you desire.
Would it be a good influence? Or would you merely experiment with unfounded theories rather than apply actual scientific solutions.
Would you respect The Constitution and not change it for the benefit you think it would bring to the black population. (If you do this, it would not be for the benefit of all. Only the minority.) It would be imperative that you understand that the Constitution of the United States is for the benefit of all. Perhaps you could bring about reform in legal ways, as far as "ending massive incarceration" and taking the "profit out of the prison system."
I really don't understand some of your answers to your own questions, Kathryn. I'm not trying to argue with you, I just don't understand. I'm older than you, I'm sure. I grew up in the 1950s. I saw my family, both male and female come home from the war. I had one aunt in the WAVES and others who worked either for the government in DC or CA or in factories. My mother worked as a secretary in an office in Arkansas that was overseen by Rep. Wilbur Mills. My dad's sisters worked in war factories. The point I'm making here is that these women were herded back to their chores of homemaking and raising babies as soon as the male veterans came home. Some welcomed it, while others never got over their tastes of freedom. We were white, so I saw what the so-called "white privilige" did to the women in our family. By the 60s women had had enough and rebelled.
At the same time the integration crisis was beginning, and although I didn't agree with the separation of the races, I was horrified that Eisenhower, a Republican used the military against the civilian population in Little Rock, Arkansas. I was a student in school then and personally knew some of the displaced white students when the Little Rock schools shut down because they came to live with family and went to high school in our town to graduate. But I digress.
in the 1990s, a friend of mine had problem teenage children who were sent to a school "for troubled youth". The school was run by a black superintendent. This wise Black man told her something that many of us had believed for years, and that is when integration was finally accomplished, instead of bringing the standards up for the black children and making them equal to the white kids, the standards were lowered to make the white kids equal to the Black kids. He said "that was detrimental to both races." I believe he put his finger on the problem that exists today. The dumbing down of our kids started back then because nobody was required to toe the line. Lazy kids of both races were passed, all kids became equal and the bright ones were made to suffer until somebody finally came up with special classes for THEM and not just the "special needs" children. We may have lost a whole generation of minds because education money was being spent on the special needs kids to teach them how to tie their shoes instead of educating future educators and astronauts.
My point is that our problem today is much older and complicated than most folks born after 1950 or 1960 are able to realize. There aren't a lot of us old folks left who grew up and lived with the situation. Trump is old enough to understand it, but he doesn't give a tinker's dam about it. Kamala may be old enough to understand, but I'm not sure that at age 60 she is. The situation of where we are now is older and more rotten than most of you would believe. I don't have the answer, but I do know that two things won't solve the problem: 1. throwing money at it in the form of useless social programs (Dems) or vouchers to send kids to be indoctrinated at Christian schools that teach the world is 6,000 years old [GOP] or 2. military action against civilians that don't fall in line with the current government's viewpoint [GOP].
I hope my beginning rant goes a little way to explaining the "burdens of the past" that even Kamala is too young to understand.
There must be bipartisan cooperation to work out the country's ills, and I don't see that happening very soon.
Did you watch the interview? I believe she has thought about what the burdens are, even if she has not been a victim of racial injustice to any GREAT EXTENT AT ALL. I believe she was told by her activist Jamaican father and her activist Indian mother what the burdens WERE (and had definitely been) in the past. I believe she believes the burdens are STILL REAL. I believe you do too.
I, being younger than you, as you have rightly surmised, do not believe they are. In my lifetime things were better than in the past. Much, much better.
I believe racial issues were resolving themselves before Obama came along and HE pinpointed all this ridiculous negativity.
This explanation may be hard to understand. I am not a pollyanna, but I do believe in the ability of the human spirit to evolve and change through love and acceptance. Also through holding each other accountable by the boundaries of laws, moral and legal. I believe we were naturally on that path. No need to pinpoint and force the issue. Education is the key.
Early training toward morals and spiritual ideals is the key. Not social programs forced upon the majority for the sake of the minority to the detriment of all.
Thank you Kathryn, I especially like your last two paragraphs in your answer to me. Perhaps things did get better for awhile. I really can't answer that because I spent the last 30 years cooped up in an office in the state Capitol editing the state lawbooks, and I saw a real deterioration in the quality of laws being proposed. Many of them were either motivated by racism or some type of violence. (For example, one doofus lawmaker tried to get a law passed that every household in the state must own a gun.]
Is the guy a Rep or a Dem that wants every household to own a gun?
This is actually 'America and their America'. And if Kamala, knows all these because she has all the information, but can't understand it, she's probably not suitable to gun for the White House. As for Tiump, who's old enough to understand ak these things, but is darn, would to God Vance, take over?
Don't worry about Vance. He is young. He will improve. But truthfully, he is very accomplished for his age. What is your complaint about him?
Vance is a young, but successful businessman. He is also a self-centered misogynist. How do you think he will improve, and why would he when his shocking statements are getting him the attention he wants. At least Trump can be excused because of his alleged dementia.
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/trump … al-decline
Who says Kamala can't understand it? As far as I know, only Trump has attempted to question her intelligence or her education. Frankly, thinking Americans better hope that Vance isn't left to take over. That's a real heap of trouble brewing if he gets a chance. He's dangerous.
Let Americans give Vance, the chance, and let's see the results.
"Trump is old enough to understand it, but he doesn't give a tinker's dam about it."
Why do you think Trump doesn't care ~ when all he has ever done is hire people of all races and cultures? He works hard for us ALL every day of his resilient life! Yet you claim the non-fact that he is racist?
Why do you think so?
Why do I think Trump is racist? Because the very words that come out of his mouth are racist. I live in a racist state, but Trump says things that shock even the racists among us, like Puerto Rico being a floating garbage pit. Do you agree with him?
I didn't watch the rally, so I'm just going on the news blurbs. But I heard it was a hired comedian who made the Puerto Rico 'joke, ' not Trump.
Did I get it wrong, or did you?
GA
The comedian made the "joke". So why would a presidential campaign include someone with such offensive material? Racially charged material. Strange choice for someone running for a job that includes governing for all. I didn't hear any white people jokes.
I didn't hear any of it, so I'm not defending or criticizing the comedian. My comment was to the extension (as is your comment) that the words were Trump's.
Your extension goes a bit further - from the comedian to the organizer who hired the comedian to the organizer who previewed the material to ex-president Trump.
GA
Do tell?
Where is this haven for white people?
I suppose they stop non-whites at the State border... is it like what they did with vaccinations, I can't remember what State it was... RI perhaps... they literally met drivers at the border and demanded they show proof of vaccination?
Or do they allow non-whites, but they can't own land, they can't go in certain buildings, can't do certain jobs...
Do tell?
Curious I peeked. Oh No! From I sold my house.com a realty site arrives . . .
America’s Most Racist States in 2024 (RANKED) (Jan 18, 2024)
https://www.isoldmyhouse.com/americas-m … st-states/
It ranks them best to worst. Florida is 50th and California is 51st. Uh oh!
"Racism, characterized by prejudice or discrimination based on race, involves the belief that one’s race is superior and others are inferior. Measuring racism in a specific region is challenging, as it cannot be quantified.
While polls and surveys can provide insights, their accuracy may vary. Alternative indicators collected by sources, namely SPLC and Floating Sheep, include instances of hate crimes and hate speech, which can also be utilized to identify regions where racism is most pronounced.
Researchers studied the number of racist tweets related to reelections, focusing on tweets from different states. They counted how many of these hate tweets were posted and grouped them by state. This helped them understand how much racism was being expressed on Twitter and in general.
To measure this, they compare the proportion of racist tweets in a state to its total tweets. If a state scores 1.0, it means the number of racist tweets is similar to the number of non-racist tweets. A score higher than 1.0 shows that the state has more racist tweets than other types of tweets. This data helped identify which states had a higher level of racism on Twitter.
Additionally, the researchers considered the number of hate groups in each state. This added more context to understanding the extent of racism in different states.
It’s important to note that this is not a definitive way of categorization, and results may be different in real life.
This list goes from the least racist states to the most racist, in order and we included Washington D.C. in this ranking even though it is not a state but an important area for this conversation."
I read your source, and I guess I should take back my statement about living in a racist state. Arkansas is only 23 out of 51 (includes DC). MIssissippi ranked even lower on the racist scale. But New York and California, tsk, tsk. What actually disturbs me is the effect that our Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders may have on racism before her term is over. I have Christian friends who heartily supported her father, Mike Huckabee when he was governor, but they do not offer her their support.
Whats wrong with Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders?
What effect could she have on racism before her term is over?
Well, I'm hoping I'm wrong, but she pushed through the General Assembly an education bill that issues vouchers for children to attend private schools on public money. There is no income limit on these vouchers, so wealthy families who have been paying their child or children's tuition to lily white or elite schools can now do it on the public dole. Each child who goes to a private school on a voucher takes away the funding for his or her a public school. Our public schools are already laying off teachers.
You may say that these jobs can be filled by going to teach in a private school, which may be needing more teachers. In this state, private schools pay thousands of dollars less per year than public schools, so there would be lower living standards for these teachers. Also, what about the kids who are left behind in the public schools. Private schools can screen their admissions, so the failing or borderline students may not make it, and which race suffers the most in these cases?
Arkansas had just raised teachers salaries to an enviable level. How long will it be before public school teacher salaries will have to be lowered for lack of public funding because of the money being poured into private schools. Perhaps it isn't racism, but it's definitely elitism. I believe racial problems may result from this elitism our governor is showing.
Uhh...you do know that it wasn't Trump that said that? I get that the Trump haters will attribute it to him anyway, but he didn't say it and didn't support it.
That actually is the long time Trump Effect. You hate or dislike him. Cast character assasination on his name or person. It stay put.
Only with the people who refuse to see the reality of what he offers.
Thank you. And these are the ones not likely to vote for him.
Thinking racist ir thinking about how to bring on a fight (war). It's a pity that many don't understand this basic trend. I can't say more.
The ulterior motive behind focusing on and pinpointing racism is to promote division and hatred.
how come? to what end? by who?
Don't division and hate bring in a fight? It does.
yes. the division is being used on purpose, is what I think. but why?
to what end?
To create confusions in the public mind. Don't you think so?
... but why create confusions? What will confusions, hatred, discord and division cause in American society?
The American people and politicians used to be unified after elections. Everyone would just accept what the majority voted for and settle down to living their best life. But actually, we have been suffering ever since Covid 19. However, even though there is a lingering sadness, we are doing pretty good now. We have recovered and have returned to normal life to a good extent. But, not as good as before. Something terrible is being stirred up in the depths of US.
Nowadays, the children are confused, the elders are confused the middle class is confused and the labor class is confused. No one is happy and everyone is confused.
And what does this psychological condition/confusion mean for those who would like to turn US into good communist citizens?
Everything.
"Within a communist society, people are expected to act in the interest of the Communist Party and the majority of society. Specifically, the individual is expected to work and act to promote the betterment of the community. Chairman Mao Zedong elaborates, “At no time and in no circumstances should a Communist place his personal interests first; he should subordinate to the interests of the nation and the masses. Hence selfishness, slacking, corruption, seeking the limelight are most contemptible, while ... working with all one’s energy, whole hearted devotion to public duty, and quiet hard work will command respect.” Hence, communists are expected to work diligently and thoughtfully in order to ensure he or she provides the most benefit to society. As a result, any worker in the computer field is expected to manufacture computer products without the wish for acknowledgment or excessive monetary reward.
Most importantly, communists are expected to surrender their own personal interests when they are in conflict with those of the Communist Party. The most fundamental philosophy of work in communism is expressed in a quote from the 2nd Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Liu Shaoqi. He writes, “[The ideal communist] is the first to worry and the last to enjoy himself.” Communists, in this regard, must become selfless in providing for society. When one’s individual interests contradict those of the public, the individual is expected to yield. Most importantly, this means that individuals can not refuse a work assignment due to personal reasons."

Dear Kamala,
Is it wise to pinpoint racism? According your interview with Uncle Luke, you do not support school choice. Why not?
You mention it is because the black kids will be left to themselves. You are not for segregation. Yet you fight "the man," in general.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afIy2rDVecI
Have you no faith in the parents of all children to find the best schools and enroll their children where they will be most comfortable? Have you not faith that teachers will teach the black students with equal fairness and high regard as they are all God's children?
Signed,
So confused by you.
Couldn't it be that "racism" is not "racism" if we just accept the fact that others are of different races and all races are equal in the eyes of God.
God, who created us, his children, loves us dearly ... each and every one of us.
This (God's love for all,) is reality. Why pinpoint that which is not reality.
Let us focus on what is and let what is not fade away. Thats how to unburden ourselves from the past.
Sincerely, me.
America, is a democratic conutry. She shouldn't go communism. In communism there's no free will.
No, but when its sugar-coated ...
and when history is forgotten and then not taught at all ...
... can you imagine?
"At no time and in no circumstances should a Communist place his personal interests first; he should subordinate to the interests of the nation and the masses."
... but, what if this way of believing was presented as a good thing?
Dr. Maria Montessori discovered that in the human population there is no shortage of obedience. She also discovered that obedience and cooperation for the good of all is a natural tendency, but it must come from one's own willingness and ability to obey and cooperate.
For instance, some of the youth in China have become depressed due to the expectations and pressures of the communist government. It had been reported that many of the youth in China were "laying flat."
They are no longer allowed to "lie flat," but, in one providence, a "nursing home" has been constructed by one man for these young, tired/lost souls. Once there, those who have lost their enthusiasm for life and their motivation for work, are allowed to rest until they are ready go back to work. Many, however, try to remain because they rediscover and recover their joy of life through growing their own food, meditating and exercising in the sunshine, etc ... basically, by being in touch with their own selves in freedom.
No self, No will/motivation, No joy.
That's why I say communism shouldn't be enthrown in.America. It's an abnormal system of government without the natural inanealiable rights of man.
Dear Kamala,
Have a good rest.
I hope you will forget to return to politics.
~ just as as you had forgotten to include your true intents and policies in every single speech ... probably for very good reasons.
Hopefully, we'll never know what they were.
Enjoy your life and ...
Stay Positive!
Oh Kathy, THEY are SO UPSET. They feel that their LIVES ARE RUINED. They REFUSE to enjoy life & intend that others DON'T enjoy life. The drama ensues. Bring out the popcorn & for them, Trump winning is analogous to the 10th circle of hell. They are becoming increasingly hyperbolic as we speak.
They are manufacturing FEAR, fear which isn't based on reality but on pure conjecture. So sad really.
Guys, did 'real' Donald Trump, actually won both the popular, and Electoral College votes?
Dear MizBejabbers,
Sarah Sanders' policies increase competition by allowing parents to "vote with their feet." If teachers want to keep their students from transferring to private schools, they need to become better teachers. If they want to keep their salaries, they need to prove their worth.
You will obtain better teachers in the long run.
Habits take time to change, but with a little incentive, better teaching will occur more quickly.
And higher test results.
And just what is needed to become "better teachers? ". What should these teachers be doing? Just what should a teacher be expected to do?
Effective teachers make the effort to help their students understand what is being taught and help them pass their tests. Good teachers create an environment where students are motivated to learn. They use many teaching methods including guided discovery and the use of didactic teaching materials.
Lazy, ineffective teachers stand in front of the classroom and expect the students to absorb what is being taught, whether interesting on not. It is the easy way out. Students must be engaged, motivated and interested.
