    Finally: Election Day.

How did you vote? NOT who did you vote for, but what avenue did you take to cast your vote and why?

I voted early, in person at town hall.  My wife and I rode with our daughter in law and her mother.  It took us about 5 seconds to get a ballot, 5 minutes to fill it out and 1 minute to feed it into the machine.

The only hangup was that the mother had not updated her address since she moved to town.  She had changed cities and county in her move of 10 miles, and it took a bit to get it fixed.

I also voted early in person; my experience was as speedy as yours.

And I've been stewing on it for 2 days. I'm sorry I did. It didn't and doesn't feel right. I have always voted in person on election day. The feeling isn't the same. I might have to go back for a visit on election night just to get some of it back.  ;-)

I get some of that as well.  At the same time, though, the polling place was set up very close to what the one I use is.  Even down to the "I voted" sticker they gave me.  That helped, but I think next time it will be the regular voting.

The wife and I will be going tonight... our youngest son will be voting for the first time, he will be coming with us.

Not at all worried about it.

Mail-in dropped off at my community clerk's office in person.

We voted early at our local branch library because it was more efficient than the mail in ballots we used in the last presidential election. There were about five or six people ahead of us, but the workers were quick and efficient. The worker at the machines asked if we needed help, and my husband replied that he needed me to help him. He has mild Alzheimer's but he is an educated person and knows his own mind when it comes to politics. The worker was kind and courteous as were all the people there. In all it took us about 15 minutes since we doubled up at one machine. By the way, years ago I served as a poll watcher in our same precinct. I have always appreciated the courteous helpful election sheriffs and other workers who serve us.

For the first time I mailed in my absentee ballot.  Because I know there are sometimes issues with the post office, I've always carried my ballot to a drop box, preferably during early voting so I get that coveted "I Voted" sticker.

But this time my ballot arrived the day before I was going out of state, so I filled it out and put it in my mail box. If I died in a traffic accident on my trip, I wanted my vote to count.

I checked the Georgia Web site, My Voter Page, to make sure it was recorded. It took 11 days!

I wonder if Georgia has had a tough time getting poll workers as a result of what Trump did to Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman

Yes. Everything has been tough about elections since Trump. I am an observer of our county election board for the League of Women Voters, and the difference between my early years and now is disheartening. The restrictions created by our GOP-led legislature has added layer upon layer of time-consuming additional work/expense. But the biggest difference is the number of angry people at every meeting no matter what efforts are made to appease them.

Fortunately, the extreme measures recently taken at the state board of elections has brought out more moderates to push back on the extremes.

Every polling place now has a police presence, panic buttons, and drop boxes on 24-hour video surveillance, which has helped recruit and retain all the needed workers. God willing, it will all go peacefully - before and after election day.

Went last Monday, the third day of early voting in our county, to the local Town Hall.  It took about 45 minutes as the line was out the door.  Check-in took three minutes once through the line, and voting took another one minute.  30 seconds to feed the ballot into the machine and get confirmation that my vote had been accepted.
