You have already read about Texas' plan to flip five Democratic seats to Republican ones via a mid-year gerrymander. Now we have this headline "Trump and his allies mount a pressure campaign against US elections ahead of the midterms"

This forum is to chronical the Republican assault of free elections and the Democrats attempts to counter it.

The latest Democratic counterattack (maybe) to the Texas assault is California putting a new congressional map to the voters (which Texas is afraid to do) in Nov. I don't know if that is a done deal, but it is a beginning.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/02/politics … e-campaign

This starts out this way: "A few weeks ago, Republican election officials in Colorado began receiving unsolicited calls and texts from a GOP consultant who said he was working with the Trump administration on “election integrity.” - and it gets worse from there.

it will take the good people of America deciding to take back their country to begin repairing the damage being done daily now.

It will take people recognizing manipulation when they see it and hear it. Based on 2024, they don't have a very good track record. But the one thing I still have faith in is the basic goodness inside most of us. That is, if we don't sit on the sidelines.

I have been observing the antiques of Donald Trump for the last almost 6 months sinc becam president I will disappointed supporters and tell them that this man of balance I think he is destroying the wester lines more likes Samsung who destroyed the temple of the events and then  destroyed himself. He has also antagonised old friends like India which was supposed to be part of the fight against China. He is suffering from Avengers complex, and wishes to leave a name in world history. Perhaps this is the way he thinks it is possible, but it is bad for America,

Trump was quick to try to rig future elections by taking over state prerogatives with this EO

Executive Order 14248: “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections”
Signed March 25, 2025, the order aimed to impose federal-level mandates affecting voter registration and ballot counting:

    * Required proof of U.S. citizenship (e.g., passport or REAL ID) for federal voter registration.

    * Prohibited counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day—even if state law allows it.

    * Directed the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to revise the national mail registration form accordingly.

    * Empowered federal agencies to access voter roll data and potentially withhold funds from non-compliant states.

    Key Concerns & Legal Challenges

Federal overreach: Voting rights experts and the Constitution’s Elections Clause assign election administration to states, not the presidency. The order attempts to centralize control.

Disenfranchisement risk: Millions of eligible voters would struggle to access required documents (e.g., passports, birth certificates), especially low-income individuals, women who changed names, Native Americans, and new registrants.

Legal action: A coalition of 19 Democratic attorneys general from multiple states filed suit in April 2025 seeking to block the order. The order has already been temporarily halted by federal courts.
