Sometimes it is just the little things about Trump that ticks you off

I got pretty upset when the head archivist for the Dwight Eisenhower Presidential library in Kansas was told to either resign or be fired by the Trump administration. This over the fact that Trump wanted a sword as part of that library that was given to Eisenhower by the Queen of the Netherlands in 1947 in appreciation for his efforts as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during the then recently ended WWII. This sword Trump wanted to give to King Charles as a gift.

Well, you don’t loot and ransack Presidential libraries of their artifacts to give someone a gift. Is he that insensitive, ill-mannered and inconsiderate of the legacy and memory of the man and his role? Someone who actually EARNED it? For this Trump, is there no sense of decency or boundaries that he just wont Trumple over? I consider these libraries as sacred gifts to the American people.

Desecration is his middle name, what’s next?
And this is the sort of man you voted for?

You want desecration, go after those idiots that tore down statues of our past history.  That's "desecration", not giving a historically important sword to someone.

      desecrate
      verb
      des·e·crate ˈde-si-ˌkrāt
      desecrated; desecrating
      Synonyms of desecrate
      transitive verb

      1
: to violate the sanctity of : profane
      desecrate a shrine
      a cemetery desecrated by vandals
      2
: to treat disrespectfully, irreverently, or outrageously
… the kind of shore development … that has desecrated so many waterfronts …
      —John Fischer

Neither one fits gifting a sword to an important figure.  Both fit tearing down statuary of our past.

I tend to agree ESO. Next stop obfuscation station, where we find the sort that are willing to lie, cheat and steal on behalf of their orange tinged God.

Taking an artifact from a Presidential Library and just giving it to someone else is desecration, it doesn’t belong to him but to a man that had 10 times his character and merit. An exemplary leader, not a man that hid behind “bone spurs”. I am sure that General Eisenhower’s progeny would have more than a few things to say about it.  I say that the definition of Trump’s behavior in this case fits the definition to a “T”.

I guess you can define a string of letters to mean anything you want it to.

The rest of us will use such definitions as come from Mirriam Webster.

I hadn't heard the story - did Trump end up stealing the artifact?

No, he simply fired the head archivist at the library for refusing to give up the sword as Trump requested. Trump ultimately gave Charles a replica of this sword in its place.

The point was that the archivist in not handing over artifacts from this museum refused to be a partner with Trump in such a high level of disrespect toward one of this country’s heroes. For that he was fired or forced to resign.

Thanks, hope the archivist is suing.

Yes, it is. That's the tragedy for America.

Donald "the enemy of the people" Trump 1.0 screwed the farmers with his first failed tariff war. They voted for him again just so he could screw them again with is second failed tariff war and largest tax hike in American history.

In both cases, he wasted billions of dollars of YOUR money bailing farmers out for problems Trump caused (he is very good at that - causing problems)
