How quickly you libs forget! Look at the violence of the protesters in Pittsburgh at the G-20 summit. These people smashed windows and set fires and clashed with the police. Have you seen any of that at the Tea Party Protests?

I outlined some of these threats on one of my recent Hub Pages.
It is sad that those who can not get their way through the political process try to get their agenda through fear and violence.  These same people do this in the name of stopping "socialism," "fascism," "stalinist government," etc.  So in other words, in order to stop this "stalinist Government," they are going to use violence and threatening to influence political decisions in a manner they see fit?

Where else in the world would the extension of health care to the majority of citizens provoke threats of violence?

There probably isn't another population in the world where so many revel in unnecessary suffering and early, avoidable deaths. And the reason for this strange perversion of human feeling? A weird ideology that somehow justifies sadism and fills the hater with a sense of righteousness.

      1. TMMason profile image67

Man it is not about helping those in need.

it is about fundamentally changing our country... to a european socailist model.

how anyone would think Europe is a model to follow is beyond believable.

We help those in need in this country... America helps the entire world... we always have and most likely always will.

Just ask Europe... 50 years of American welfare, (Marshall plan), is the only reason England and the others are still countries at all.

Will Apseposted 8 years agoin reply to this

There are no socialist countries in Europe. You have been fed some strange ideas.

The problem is that no one can see straight when they are in the grip of any ideology. So why not ditch the easy comforts of stuff people tell you and start looking around for some facts? For a start, the national statistics on health care are easily available. Give yourself a nice cold dose of reality and wake from your slumber.

Unfortunately, most of them inherited their religious and cultural (including Euro-bashing) traditions from your country... (The South has the highest percentage of those with British heritage in the country - and it is the poorest, most uneducated, and most hyperreligious section of the country, as well.)

  7. lovemychris profile image64

Bomb buildings? Wasn't that the FBI?
4 little girls died in a church too remember?
Three men shot on the spot...and one a president!

WEll, if it's all planned, and all geared at a take-over, it would seem reasonable to assume that the same people are behind both sides using violence, wouldn't it?

The problem is--who is calling the shots?

    you say it's the gvt.
    i say it's the neo-cons.

    Any other suspects?

Yes, politics have evoked anger and violence in this country more than once. This is nothing new. This country was born in blood, and Christened in blood. And I am sure we will reach that point again someday.

  9. lovemychris profile image64
    lovemychrisposted 8 years ago

Yes..the gvt would include this one. I have read that Geithner and Panetta are no friends of Obama.
There is treachery in all directions.
That is why it's so important to get to the bottom of WHO is really calling the shots.

    Want my guess?
Whoever it was that took the put-up options on 9/11 and made a killing on the stock market.
Whoever it was that got 2 billion dollars from TARP that Bernanke would not name...
I think they are one and the same.

But I'm a conspiracy kook, so what do I know? Nothing.

Odds are nobody is trying to stop facism, or socialism, or anything else. These "attacks" and "threats" are actually being done Democrat loyalists. This is a ploy by Pelosi, et al, to gain sympathy for the Democrats prior to the upcoming November elections. Certain other remarks of calling Democrats racists have never been substantiated. These elections are critical. And the BS will be so thick it will probably come to blows among congressman in the chambers.

For all of the things that politicians pull, it seems very odd that THIS is what prompts threats? What about scandals, affairs, corruption, nasty comments made on an open mike? For whatever you do or don't think about this vote, it is a vote. That's their job. Those other things aren't.

  12. lovemychris profile image64

Yes, but the G20 summit was protesting big money...fighting for the people.
The tea-baggers are fighting for big money. They don't want the healthcare rip off to change. They want to keep it as it in. They are in fact, fighting against the people.

    For insurance co's, against reform.

And they never go after the ones who created this mess, just after the ones who inherited it.

    Bassackwards.

    1. profile image0
Poppa Bluesposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Oh I see, so when one protests against "Big" money violence is acceptable. Same with environmental protesters too? So it's okay to burn down people's homes and set car lots of SUV's on fire?

But protesting for an individuals right to chose to buy health care, no that's wrong...

Oh yeah, I get it now!

  13. livelonger profile image94

The other difference I see is that left-wing vandals destroy property (rioting at G-20 summits, eco-activists, etc.) while right-wing terrorists aim to hurt/kill people. I see a big difference between destroyed property and murder.

  14. Ron Montgomery profile image61
    Ron Montgomeryposted 8 years ago

None of the violence is acceptable.

I don't however recall seeing Democratic congressmen encouraging the violent protestors as the Republicans have done.

    1. profile image0
Poppa Bluesposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Where or when did you see Republican congressman advocating or encouraging violence?

  15. lovemychris profile image64
    lovemychrisposted 8 years ago

    No you don't get it.
Sarah Palin put targets on people....you get that?
    That is premeditated and personal.
Why doesn't she target Pilgrim Health?
Why is she targeting individual citizens?

No, not ok to burn homes and car lots.
But it it even less ok for a public official to incite violence.
    People listen to her.

When you see Grayson with a targeted list of Republican members of congress to "hit", you get back to me!

    1. profile image0
Poppa Bluesposted 8 years agoin reply to this

These are the "target" you're talking about, right?

      http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gyJr8hMB7bA/S6ojBCQq9CI/AAAAAAAAA6g/zgys3_ihEGI/s1600/hitmap.jpg

That just doesn't seem like she's advocating violence to me.

  16. lovemychris profile image64
    lovemychrisposted 8 years ago

"These targeted politicians have received death threats. Their offices and homes and the homes of their family members have been vandalized. They are beefing up security measures for themselves and those who are close to them. Sarah Palin might be to blame."

This person says "might". I say definately.
Just like I blame O'Reilly for Tiller the Killer remarks. They know exactly what they are doing, and they also know they cannot be held accountable. Free speech, right?
They didn't mean anything right? Then why say it at all? Why put that list up using crosshairs? What does that signify? Target practice, yes? KABOOOM. Little miss Baracuda and Mr. Talking Sh*t know exactly what they are doing, imo. And they will pay the price. It's not the dems who will look bad here. Unless their idiot brigade gets loose...and there are those too.

But so far, for idiots, Republicans are winning hands down.

It also makes me angry that they can say all their hate stuff and Russsshhhh and Klannity and Beckles and all the rest say such nasty vile things every day, yet no one can handle potty and t*tty talk.

The Bush FCC was very repressive...still now I watch what I say. Just in case. Not that they even care, but it's the mind-set, you know? It is a terrible mind-set we are left with.
God those years were horrible....still can't shake it off!

And she is not immune to them.

The right to keep and bear arms is also protected for democrats. You might be surprised but I shoot straight because I practice. I don't generally take my guns anywhere but the shooting range, but it's a poor idea to threaten me at my own home. I'm not intimidating anyone - I'm not threatening anyone. I believe in the right of peaceful protest for all sides.

Peaceful protest is not done in a public venue with an AK-47 slung over your shoulder.
