She wants to stay and there are many members in the Democratic party who support her.  The only answer I have is Yes! Yes! Yes!  Please stay and run and win the position.  We'd love for Nancy to stick around and remind us of her years as Speaker of the House and rehash everything she said and did. So don't go quietly in the night, Nancy, rage, rage at the dying light.  That would be something to see. lol

She will make for the left side and help to devide any votes and hopes for compromise, which the country needs right now.

She is to arrogant to see the harm she has done. She needs to go, but there are no Dems with backbone enought to say no I think.

She should run in the New York marathon in the best of cases and stay out of politics once and for all. She may not understand that since too much Botox does affect the brain

I, for one, am NOT in favor of this move on her part.
I hope Obama has a little chat with her.

You know she is very true to the community she is representing.  Her district's citizens are very much like her.  I cannot fault her for being a good Representative of her constituents wants and values.  Unfortunately her style and her style of politics isn't good for the nation.  That really is her only downfall.  But if she was to be judged solely off of how well she is representing the wants of her people, she should get an A+.  She is spot on.

I think we tend to forget, from where it is people like her, get elected from.

not forgetting at all, she caters to her votes very well, she understands that principle of take care of the people, and she has done that many times over. She is a smart Lady, knows the political world well.

but it is time for her to step aside I think. But I do not see the People in her corner telling her that at all.

I still think people do forget.  Just read most of these post in the politics and social issue forum. Pelosi is true to herself, and to her district.  From a political perspective- she is made up of the right stuff.

From the political stuff she is the epitome of what is wrong with politics. When she was the leader of the house she promised the country and not just her district that she will lead the country out of the problems, that she blamed on Bush and the Republicans.

This is kind of SCAREY to think about before bedtime.  But California is in such financial trouble...So I'm not sure what GOOD she has done for her State.  Step down gracefully and with dignity would be my advise...for what it's worth.

Pelosi made promises four years ago, they didn't come true or even close. She is lucky that she is still in office.

Pelosi represents a very small but very dense district in SF, not the entire state of California. Our state's problems are of our own making, due in large part to ridiculous pensions for retired (at way too young an age) state workers.

I have to say, I was soooo excited when she became speaker of the house. It was such an accomplishment.
But, deserved or not, (and some of it IS deserved), Pelosi has become a lightning rod for criticism and derision.

I suppose that maintaining "any" leadership role in the House sends the message that she/we aren't capitulating.

I really don't know. It's a "damned if she does/damned if she doesn't" situation. If she does step down and whoever takes her place is equally reviled, then we will know it was "them" and not "her" after all lol

you couldn't be righter iagree wiyh you but she has to step down it's the right thing to do she was the leader at the moment of the defeat so she should take responsability for not beeing able to get it done no matter what the circunstances were and let a new person into leadership going forward

Pelosi is our federal problem in California, and the democratic run state government for the last three decades is because of loyal party voters outnumbering the intelligent choices.

Barbara Boxer is another California federal problem. She didn't help CA or the country in twenty eight years.

I absolutely agree on the costly pensions.

If anyone bankrupted the U.S. (We aren't bankrupt, BTW) it was George W. Bush who cut taxes, spent billions and got us bogged down in two unnecessary wars.

The democrats and Clinton started the process with lets let anyone buy a home, whether they can afford it or not.

The Congress both parties accepted the war after 911, and they have continued the wars after the democrats took control of the Congress and the Presidency.

Blame Congress, they can't work as a Team and they haven't for many many years.

Clinton didn't take any real action in 1993 when the first WTC bombing was attempted by these same terrorist groups.

From the end of 2006 through the 2008 election, both parties, and the presidential candidates did nothing but campaign. It was during that time that the economy went critical.

In fact, no one was talking about an economic collapse even a month before it did collapse, right before the election.

Obama ,Pelosi and Reid are trying to spend on the American people...I guess that offends you?
TARP--bank bail-outs were put into law under Bush...they were already LAW when Obama took office.
However, Obama and Pelosi and Reid made sure the banks paid back what they borrowed.
They have given themselves bonuses, been greedy and arrogant...don't blame Obama.

I HOPE Pelosi stays! Otherwise, these compromising, weak-willed Dems will have the floor. Compromise my a$$.

Never compromise with the money-bags. Because give them an inch and they will take a continant!

We need Liberal Dems to step up and take back the Democratic Party.....

We were just shown that old axim: If peole want to vote for real Repubs or Dems who act like Repubs...they will take real Repubs every time.

    Stop being Republicans...BE DEMOCRATS!

Oh, yes, I sooo want the liberals to take back the Democratic party.....that way they are guaranteed never to win another election.....

Liberals need to be liberals and conservatives need to be conservatives.  Given the clear choice, conservatism will win every time.....

Really? Your "conservatives" just halted the gvt so they could add 700 billion to the deficit.

        Wooo Wooo, that's suuuum conservatives.

Pelosi is more conservative than they are. At least she pays for things. Like, "The Dems came in and they were glued to the CBO"

Your conservatives spent like drunken soldiers. ALL on things to benefit themselves and their wealthy friends. Or to buy votes.
        Boooooo/FAIL.
