The dems are out of control proposing a 6 bill dollar cut in response to the 61 billion on the table which should be even more! The republicans MUST stand their ground and let the dems face the consequences of their action!

The very sad truth is the government doesn't actually shut down.

The government employees AKA leeches still get paid to do substandard work.

I worked for government and worked my *** off. And the work was not substandard. You don't know what you are talking about Jim.

The work is sub-standard, that is, sub-standard to private employees work standards...It wasn't always this way...Sub-standard workers began infiltrating the public sector in the 60's under affirmative action programs...As a private sector manager I was appalled at the mediocrity and laziness I encountered when pursuing government contracts or certain licensing requirements...The motto of these folks seem to be " We have one speed, and that is set by the slowest fellow employee "...This mindset is in full bloom today...

Jim, and certain other "conservatives," are firm in their belief that public sector employees are lazier, stupider, and higher paid than their private sector counterparts.  He doesn't mind dismissing evidence to the contrary, as long as he can cling to his stereotype.

Yes of course as we all know there are no lazy and stupid people working in private enterprise!

Lady_love, have you ever stopped to think that politics should be more about the coin, rather than which side of the coin you are on?

Hey Oli, not once has she concerned herself with that. It's much easier to place blame instead of truly accepting responsibility. wink

Oh I agree! I want to keep more of my coins then waste them of faceless bureaucrats that solve nothing and often make problems worse.

But they aren't your coins, they are the governments, given to you to use as reward for your labour and to spend on the necessities of life, that includes taxes.

If you really believe that it is your own money then just make some more, there are plenty of copying machines that will do perfect copies of notes.

      Who is out of control?

"The House wants to carve $61 billion out of the government for just the next seven months, which would throw hundreds of thousands of people out of work and kill off scores of vital functions. Many of them, like funding for health care reform, environmental regulation and Planned Parenthood, are on the Republicans' ideological hit list."

Other than the enviroment...and that too may be a states issue, government shouldn't be funding any if those things!

          Who should then?
Or do you want to live in South Africa where the wealthy live in gated enclosures guarded by private guards, where you can not go where you please for fear of being robbed or worse by all those that you would exclude from your dream?

Ahhh--but they should force you to have a baby once all the help is gone, huh?

Do you know--I heard on CNN about slavery going on in China....
They said the price of a human life is about $90.00. Know why?
          Because they are so expendable!
He said they are like styrofoam cups! Use on up, then throw it away.

Let me ask, what kind of life is that? And why force this onto anyone?
And---is that what you Righty's have in mind??

Why the desire for unwanted babies, when you are slashing programs that help them?

A new slave force? A new army for your Empire? Sex trade? Black-market babies?......What?

In that case shouldn't you pursue the creation of a government party that is free from corporate influence completely rather than the democrat or republican parties, both of which have massively influenced agendas due to corporate sponsorship.

I.E Democrat investment in increasing government use of cellular devices, but with huge AT&T investment in the party. Seeing costs rise in communications across the board, and extending the trouble free monopoly of iPhone on single network.

          Or

Bush being told to 'wind up' his inaugural speech by one of the top bods of Meryl Lynch, shortly before the 'deregulation of banks', cue the sharp rise of bankruptcies.

There should be 'separation of corporation and state' as much as 'separation of religion and state' in America in my opinion.

Why do you liberals want to control everything?

Every time you gain power it ensures another 12 years of Republican rule.

      Sad, so very sad.

MUST I mention this again and again and again??

Anti-Abortion: Wanting to control the most private and personal human thing of all: My body.

You are standing on quick-sand. You need to change your mantra to this:  "OUR kind of control".

You want the control. Libs want freedom. Just look what Walker the Shill-Pill has done!!

Thrown a gvt employee violently to the ground because HE-- Walker, wants control of the People's House! He's a thug of the worst sort.
Along with being a corporate shill. Or are they one and the same???

          I'm not anti abortion.

And those that are see things quite differently.

They don't want the potential mother to murder her unborn child.

But you are all for it.

I am for letting the woman decide her own life. Pro-Choice.

The others are for forced birth.

And not to mention, a really horrible destitute life once they're here.

Of course if you shut down government something would rise up  to take its place.
Can you be sure that would be an improvement?

          yep.

"Oh no! Our schools are being run"

"Hey, i could probably make a buck if I started a school"

"Hey, i bet i could make a buck if I made a better school than him"

And, at this third step, we have a better system than government.

          1. John Holden profile image61
John Holdenposted 12 years agoin reply to this

            Yes of course!

Too many people setting up schools and charging for nothing, the majority of parents sending their children to, not the best, but the cheapest schools, or not even bothering to send them to school at all.

The head of a public (private) school recently saying that what the state spent on education wouldn't even cover his admin fees!

I knew the OP of this thread was either LaLo or Ann Cee before I checked.  This type of post is apparently all they are capable of producing in any great number.  I certainly hope they do not stop posting them every day or so.  Their mere desperation in doing so always gives me a happy feeling knowing these types represent the opposition.  Thanks girls!  I'll check back tomorrow to see what BS your desperation produces.  lol
