Want to know why your bank fees are rising why your free checking isn't free anymore and why debit card purchases may be limited or even eliminated in the future? You can thank democrat Dick Durbin! You see liberals know everythin better than anyone so of course they know how to run a bank and what it should charge in fees and so leave it to the compasionate liberals to pass regulations telling people how to run their business regardless of what that dies to your pocket book!!
Thats not exactly news.
The war on poverty has actually made the poor poorer.
It has made everyone poorer.
Except politicians, they keep getting richer.
Especially democrats! By creating an entitlement class the democrats have a base for their power otherwise no one would vote for them and their idiotic ideas! GOD, they disgust me!!!
Do you get paid to post Fox talking points or are you just driven?
The sad thing is, it's totally possible. Since the Digg scandal, there have been a number of exposes of companies like New Media Strategies that use persona management software to create dozens of "real" looking sock puppets per employee to fill everything from forums to blog comments to social media profiles with right wing talking points.
Even sadder, I read those articles and think "I want that job!" Imagine getting paid to argue on the internet all day! That would be fun. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to make arguments I don't believe in (to some degree or another - there's a time and a place for devil's advocacy, but I'm not interested in actually selling my soul) and I haven't heard of a left-leaning equivalent yet.
If I'm a paid sock puppet, Obama is Kenyan! Lol! You lefties have to ditch the tin foil hats ... the fact is you are an EXTREME minority!
I have to agree since no self respecting conservative would be stealing productivity from their employer to post crap on a relatively small political forum. No, she's just another angry troll like her brother Jim, or TK before them and the dozens of others that came and left crying because they couldn't convince us dirty rotten liberals that Bush 2.o was a better president than our "Kenyan" president.
Of course I'd like you to come to the light side and discard your evil philosphy and join the majority of Americans that believe in freedom... but I also recognize that some people can't handle the resposibility that goes along with being free and they must rely on others to administer to their needs... it's a nice feeling knowing someone will care for you and you need not worry.
Then why are you so driven? It seems abby normal to me. If you know what I mean.
If you didn't see "Young Frankenstein" you won't get it.
So you would rather have fees on being 5 cents short on your account? Is that more fair? Transfer to a credit union and screw the big banks if you don't want the fees.
You don't think before posting this stuff, I am convinced of it.
Exactly!!! Oh the poor banks are going to lose out on some interchange fess that they need to cover fraudulent charges. How about forcing retailers to check ID's at the POS.
Let those banks place caps on debit card spending, it will just open new avenues for other financial organizations like credit unions to fill the gap.
Why isn't it fair if you know the rules? If I think my bank treated me unfairly I'd call them up and complain and I have and have had fees reversed... believe it or not that aren't unreasonable. Do you work for free? I'm sure you charge for all your time or find some make to make your employer pay for every minute you put in.
When you put money in a bank you lend to the bank. Lenders are people who should not be abused by the borrower.
Don't put your money in the bank lend it to homeless people... who knows maybe you'll get a better return.
And I noticed you didn't answer my challenge to you that red states are welfare maidens. They are you know.
It's off subject you could start another thread on it. Anyway I doubt that's factually true sure some states are netting more money back from the feds than they pay and some like my state get less but that's partly abuse of earmarks.
It is researched. Google it. Some states get back more than they put in. Generally, the blue states put in more than they get back. It has been this way for years. The toxic crash may have affected this, but blue states have higher tax brackets and more stays with the Federal government. Poor states get more back.
And one more thing Lady. Did you know that the red states are subsidized by the blue states, with the exceptions of Nevada and Texas? Red states are poor and they get welfare from the government.
So they are the biggest hypocrite states of all.
Do you really think just insulting about half the country encourages debate?
Or did you just come here to empty the contents of your spleen onto our heads?
Because I don't understand why someone would want to just run up to strangers and shout nasty things at them.
Er, the OP was banned from hubpages several years ago.
Just saying.
"entitlement class". Gee - I always thought the richer one was the more entitled they were.
"They EARN their entitlements!" I like you. You are tough. Ever see Jeeves and Wooster?
"No who are they, butlers? Lol". Great British comedy series about your "earner" and his butler.

LaLo,
Could you at least make an effort to write titles that relate to the topic?
If you want to write a thread about the liberals' policies relating to the poor or entitlement programs, fine.
If you want to write a thread about the government meddling in banks' business and dictating what they can charge as fees, fine.
But you're mixing apple and oranges here.
And bank fees affect more people than the poor. In fact, one could argue that the poor are disproportionately LESS affected than the middle class by such changes....
Yeah! The poor have less than the middle class.
"one could argue that the poor are disproportionately LESS affected than the middle class by such changes..."
Ok, make that argument.
Beat up on the poor, after all its a liberal pastime.
Obviously they effect everyone that uses a bank but who will be hurt more? The poor and middle class... the poor will be unable to use debit cards or get credit cards the middle class will be pushed into using credit cards! So sorry but you libs always talk about how compassionate you are and this is just more evidence to the contrary but you would justify it by deflecting the subject to government interference in the banks not to take responsibility or to admit that liberals are simply monsters that gate the people... two faced liars that say they are for the people while they are stabbing them in the back!
"Who cares would be a better question." Love a caring man.
Would knowing about a British comedy make me more compassionate?
I long to be compassionate.
You Lady are lost.
I have free checking and I am a major Progressive. Why do right-wingers always complain about Progressives and NEVER OFFER SOLUTIONS?
It has something to do with biased thinking. These are the reasons Congress gets nothing done. They are basically griping about Democrats instead of working with real Americans addressing real issues.
I care about the poor, you however, are a different sort...Checkout the benefits of the Durbin Legislation instead of ignorantly complaining about something you don't understand.
Lady...change banks...don't rag Liberals...This is old, old old. Come up with some solutions and stop complaining. GROW UP and start working for solutions instead of succumbing to your biases.

Why do liberals think everyone needs to pay for everyone else. The left constantly berates the Right for not being willing to fund their social pet projects. Why should I be willing to pay for others willingly, when those folks just don't hard enough? Any honest thoughts as to why some feel it is...

In these days of historically low interest rates home owners, who by definition are not the poorest, are doing very nicely. Those who are in wellpaid jobs are on the whole quite well off in absolute terms, and compared with before the crash. The jobs government are cutting are largely low paid jobs...

Why do the liberals insist on more deficit spending when the nation is BROKE?Why do the liberals REFUSE to understand that the deficit spending MUST be stopped or the nation will become premanently bankrupt?

Earlier I read a forum thread intended to smear the poor as lazy and entitled. It sickened me. This forum post will prove with incontrovertible government figures that this is a falsehood and/or a lie.First the figures:First off 91% of welfare dollars last year went to working households, the...

Some (not all) liberals are always bashing conservatives for not caring about their fellow man, but guess who donates more money, more time, and more blood to charities and causes? Conservatives! Even though conservatives make less, on average, than liberals, they still donate more money.Check out...
