So Ron Paul came second in the Iowa straw poll, and nobody in the media seems to be saying anything about it. Except Jon Stewart.

Now, the straw poll is usually a meaningless exercise, but this year it was made even more meaningless by the fact that Bachmann won by a rather narrow margin, and may only have won because she bought a bunch of tickets (at $30 a pop) for a few thousand of her supporters (her margin of victory was smaller than the number of tickets she bought).
So what do we take from the straw poll?
Well, in oversimplified comedic terms, about half the people who voted in the straw poll want an America to be more like the Massachusetts Bay Colony used to be, and the other half want an America that looks like the Massachusetts Bay Colony, but functions like Somalia.
