I heard there are still many supporters of Obama these days.
Do you support President Obama? Why not state some sound reasons backed up by verifiable facts?
I know my friend like him. Some of them are of same race but many also hate him. I think he has done many good things in America specifically health care.
I have come to think that Obama is the president of the century.
Well, he certainly seems to think he is.
@christiana president of century is absurd claim but yes he is certainly better president than bush ...
Well, he can talk and chew gum at the same time for a start. He definatley has a similar air of arrogance about him, but he doesn't swagger and sneer the way Bush did. And of course Obama hasn't started any new wars yet for his perosnal gain.
That's cute, recommend1, but any real facts? We could say that Clinton didn't accept bin Laden into this country when he was offered on a silver platter because he was afraid of the repercussions. In retrospect, personal gain?
it's all political games if you've done any research. I can't help but facepalm when i see americans babbling on about republican this, democrat that.
it's irrelevant
I have also heard that there are many brain dead people among them who want our federal government to be their Nanny.
The Frog
Bush Jr. was a better president. Less government spending, better economy, more jobs created, less people on welfare, etc. Plus he liked the constitution, unlike Obama.
Bush Jr? LOL Approval rating of 27, got us involved in a useless and costly 10 year war, failure during Katrina. At the helm when the recession hit, appointed unqualified "Good Christians" to post head a number of departments, passed the Patriot Act which in cases infringed on peoples rights, etc.
Ok, Obama renewed the patriot act, and signed into law the NDAA which allows the government to hold indefinitely US citizens, his failure during the giant oil plume that screwed up the ocean and killed innumerable amounts of sea life.
He appoints a truckload of idiots like communist Van Jones, David Axelrod, Tim Geigner, and Eric Holder. He sat through the good christian rants of Jeremy Right every Sunday over the last twenty years without ever finding any of the hate filled crap that he spews out on a daily basis odious or repugnant.
He canceled oil pipelines to further his green jobs agenda. Failed cash for clunkers program, highest gas prices ever, bottomed out the housing market, responded to the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl at Fukushima power plant in Japan by advocating nuclear power and tripling taxpayer funds for loans on nuclear power plants in America.
The most Americans on welfare ever, highest government spending ever, biggest national debt ever, the Solyndra scandal, etc...
We won't know how Obama rates until after he leaves office in 2016. After all, Lincoln was hated about as bad as Bush when he was in office.
The best POTUS ever?? Um, what about Jefferson, Lincoln, JFK, Washington, etc?
I am not sure what life during their administrations was like, but I can say from experience that life under this one sucks, for lack of a more educated sounding word.
Life sucks under this one because your country was sold by the Bush tag team and you are basking in the aftermath. I have no idea if Obama is any good, and nor will anyone else unless he is able to rid your government of the toxic politics you have right now where your 'opposition' would rather see the country broke than 'their' man fail again. You are on the edge of the precipice I think.
And this little jaunt through political hogwash was based on what.
Based on the US progress from a position of financial strength, some kind of hope for all the US people - to the deeply indebted shell of a country it once was with its few super rich and a corresponding but huge poor base. From the progress toward racial equality to your current politicians stirring racial hatred without condemnation. From a god-fearing country to a looney bin full of religious simpletons.
Did I miss anything ?
Only a valid point. Who wrote this story? Where was it published and did you research the facts?
It is only necessary to stand outside and look in. I remember the respect that the US enjoyed before you shot JFK and the winners took power. I remember the fight for respect for your black people and watching as you shot King, and the black underclass you then created from the mess. And lately, a sleazy president who was run out of office, then the lying manipulations of your Bush family both in buying the presidency for the dimwit and then the lying that made yhour arms barons (and your Bush family) trillions of tax payers dollars.
First off I didn't shoot Kennedy or King I was only a kid that admired the courage of both. They were both men of conviction who would never spew unsubstantiated hatred. So all you can really say is that you base your opinions on Gibberrish and nonsense without the benefit of research. That's not much of foundation for the hate you have built up inside you. It also tends to show a low self esteem that needs to try to change facts to try and bring oneself out of the quagmire. I wish you a happier life than you seem to have right now.
It is normal for poorly educated people to retaliate with hate words and pathetic attempts at personal attacks - hey I am only criticing what is clearly apparent to everybody - except you maybe That might be due to your rapidly collapsing education system that is currently at third world levels. I guess I could do a bit of missionary work and come over and try to teach you guys a bit of stuff, and you don't need to accept any deviant religous views with your lessons either, oh yes, I won't bring any guns and missiles with me either, ok ?
The only hate words are coming from you. Can you see the man in your mirror? Is it an honest man or a bitter one?
Well - others say deeply honest, and exceptionally responsible, but then that is only the University faculty both Chinese and Western, including those people who don't like me so much - and that I put down to the fact that my honesty pops out when it would be politically sensible to lie.
So what about you ? You offer nothing except personal attacks, what do you think has happened to the US of A ?
I have not attacked anyone. You started this conversation. I am still waiting for the facts that you can use to make your sataements valid.
He deals mostly in Chines government propaganda, not facts.
That was unnecessary, especially as you go on to agree with me.
Well, you sometimes seem to be implying that China's government is better in some way than the U.S. government. I suspect you are fearful that Big Brother is watching. The U.S. government is far from perfect, but it's better than average, certainly better than China's or Russia's or India's.
I have never mentioned Chinese government, only the Chinese people and how things are here - which is totally different to the picture painted by western media.
I am not fearful of any big brother here - there is no restriction of any kind. My emails and comments etc are clearly monitored, as are yours by your government - I was on the edge of that business and know for a fact that every country is screening all electronic communications.
I do occasionally compare the two countries, and my own UK, when it reduces to pure propaganda. I do like to point out such small issues as Guantanemo when fools start to scream about Chinese imprisonment of people, I don't agree with either end of it - but criticism should be made from a position of example not the hypocritical nonsense that I am often attacked with.
"It is normal for poorly educated people to retaliate with hate words and pathetic attempts at personal attacks". And that's exactly what you're doing. You're a biased and bitter Washington insider. You're not an insider? So why all the hate speak? This country was once a great one. Still is by many standards, though admittedly, our advisors have sold the people out.
Rapidly declining education? Yes. Sold out? Yes. Assinations? Yes. So the great nation becomes the average nation. Please tell us where you hold your citizenship so we can assess your nation's standard as well.
By the way, I hold a Master's in Education and a B.A.S. in Design, among others. What's your real beef with America? Methinks thou doth protest too much.
I am glad you agree with me on all points. I don't know why you think I am attacking you as my response was clearly to someone else.
My country is the UK, which pretty much mirrors the US at this time following our being sold out by our own traiter Blair.
Conservatives, recommend1, they never give suggestions, they only shoot others down. They never do anything but criticize and turn the conversation around on you. They have no good and real points to make but they ask you for yours. Don't waste your time. Indeed, my example is here before you. You simply showed up to answer a question as you see it and they never gave an answer or opinion, and instead attacked you. They may be educated but they are still blind.
You will always notice that if you are a Conservative you are supposed to have done all sorts of work and research before you say anything...anything at all. It does not matter if the evidence you see with your eyes makes it a matter of common sense.
This is one of their favorite tactics. Now when you look somewhere like MSNBC or such where they are using all manner of hate speech you will never see one look at the other and say where are your facts.
No, that's just an attempt to shut you and me up.
Keep up the good work.
And it all started when Bush's election was final, after the Florida recount.
The slow evolution of a great Republic into a dwindling fascist tyranny!
Tut, tut. That's a bit of an overstatement.
The U.S. still accounts for a quarter of the world's gross domestic product, a proportion that has held steady for more than 40 years. Our military budget is greater than all of our rivals combined...American "declinism" is as old as America itself: in 1788, Patrick Henry was ruing the Republic's fall from the days of 'when the American spirit was in its youth."
From Jonathan Freedland's review of new books "Strategic Vision" by Zbigniew Brzezinski and "The World America Made," by Robert Kagan in today's "The NYT Book Review."
Politics is a toxic billionaires' game now, thanks to the SuperPacs authorized by the Supreme Court in Citizens United, arguably the worst decision since Plessy v Ferguson (separate but equal segregated schools 1892)
Government and corporations working in a cohesive manner to run things? A slightly fascist conception?
Completely fascist. As what happened to Argentina in 2001.
The Argetinian Collapse. All the Bush players were involved.

"The upper class needs corrupt governments which can be bribed into underselling the people's natural resources."
Totally agree with this.
We need to get the Cult out, or we are through.
Exactly habee. If men like JFk, Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln could see America today I'm afraid they would call for a revolution. Obama is far from the best president ever. I don't care for the current Republicans or Democtats. They are all crooks and should be thrown out of office.
Why not? I liked his singing! And I am certain he'd make a fabulous jazz drummer!
Can't respond...Still laughing at the premise proposed by the OP
Fact-check from speeches by Barack Obama + Mitt Romney, guess which one consistently lies? (hint: rhymes w Momney) http://ow.ly/a7Qbh
Funny, I can find more Obama lies on Factcheck, about:
social security
born alive legislation
Obamacare (lots there)
the SCOTUS
the stimulus
the deficit
oil
mortgages
U.S. history
clean energy
blaming Bush
the Tom Hanks video
the auto bailout
and more. All these can be found on factcheck.
Face it - Obama lies. Romney lies. 99% of politicians LIE.
Your link is to only two speeches - one by Obama and one by Romney. Look at the big picture for more lies from both.
Mitt Romney told me in 94 that he will always support a woman's right to choose. Now he wants to repeal Roe v Wade, and defund Planned Parenthood.
I'm going on the current Romney, who will destroy everything my fore-mothers fought so hard for.
I don't believe Roe v Wade will ever be overturned, no matter who the prez is.
It's near impossible to get an abortion now....
Adding one more Con to the SC and it is over.
Between the terrorism from Operation Rescue and the hateful rhetoric from pols like Romney...
Women will be back to holding their heads in shame for daring to express their desire for the freedom to own their own lives.
So you're still bemoaning the possibility that a woman won't be legally allowed to kill an unborn child. Wow.
You should actually look up the Roe v. Wade controversy and trial. The woman in question had the child and later became an outspoken advocate for LIFE. The whole trial etc. was a farce pushed by liberal activists. Ms. "Roe" was used as a scapegoat. There was no sympathy for her plight, no feeling for her dilemma, nor for her unborn child. No one was trying to help her come to terms with any personal dilemma she might've faced. She was simply used. Don't you get it?
The issue is the right to privacy, and the right to control our own lives.
Your religion has no business in my womb. Period.
Sorry certain people don't approve of sex for pleasure....I do. And I want my daughters to have that gift from God also.
My god is not one of coldness and vengeance.
And the day other gods stop bombing babies and killing families----I'll have a listen to their views on other issues.
LIFE is children that are already here.
Well said, lovemychris, why don't the religious nuts adopt some homeless kids rather than having five to ten of their own? Here are some hard line opinions from blue collar America, Brenda.
Those who fight abortion are ignoring the 3rd world influx that pops out puppies like a mill and expects hard working Americans to flip the bill! You like paying for Paco's ten kids? Go ahead but not me. If it wasn't for abortions the population problem would have already tipped the scales and we would all be speaking spanish. To hell with that nonsense! Viva la Abortions! Viva!
Eh...the illegal immigration problem and overpopulation doesn't have anything to do with the moral issue of abortion.
I've heard others around here talk about how abortion is okay because it stops overpopulation. I find that a horrid excuse.
The problem you've illustrated is caused by allowing people from other Nations to come to America and try to remake it and its official language into a better version of their Nation instead of them assimilating into American society. We need to close our borders and take care of our own people first and foremost, I agree. But it isn't right to say that abortion is a way to keep America's sovreignty.
I actually think they have nefarious reasons for these unwanted babies. When I find the particular web-site, I will post it.
It's just another case of 1+1=2.
Force them to have babies
Provide no help.
Where do kids end up?
Hey Chris you can do as you please. Really.
I just don't want to pay for:
A. The Abortion
2> Your medical bills for any complications that may arise from your abortions.
C.Any abortions your daughters may have because you raised them that way.
That's not my religion. That's me.
That's also most of the folks in this country.
Pollard stays in jail. Yay Obama!
"Pollard, 49, was a civilian intelligence analyst for the U.S. Navy when, in the mid-1980s, he copied and gave to his Israeli handlers enough classified documents to fill a walk-in closet. He was given a life sentence."
He did not bow to pressure from Peres and Netenyahu.
