What do you think it will be? I think it could possibly be trying to legalize pot.

This would be referred to as a "Coupe de Grass"!  lol Myself? I'm pulling for him to choose Hillary for a vice-presidential running mate.  This would set her up for the next presidential election and kill any hopes for Romneys chances.  Not that he has any at this point.  yikes

It would be the best move Obama's has  ever because they have lost the war and drugs and oversea  wars will be cut too. Too many pot heads in prison, where the killers should be.

Dangerous pot heads, yeah right, like police raids and cartels.

Try sending a pot head to war, he could not even pass the test of ordering a pizza right, let alone enough energy (low down) to kill someone.

I personally have never heard of any "killer potheads" !  Plenty of legal pharmeceutical drug users are though.  As well as alcohol users.  What about them?  You obviously have no clue about pot smokers and their habits.  No surprise!  lol

It would save billions in court cases, prison expenses, exorbitant helicopter and DEA expenses, not to mention the influx of tax money into the economy sales would provide. The original Marijuana Stamp Act was a farce as far as legality was concerned and was only passed to help Hurst and DuPont garner billions by the prevention of paper and rope being produced from hemp and therefore cornering the market for the already wealthy men.

At this time the head of the AMA testified marijuana was basically not harmful and was surely not dangerous as the government claimed.  Of course, his testimony was ignored for the might dollar and millions have suffered because of it.  It's time to put an end to this tragic and stupid law!  Don't believe me?  Read the transcripts of the hearing yourself.  mad

I think that the Obama campaign will be desperate enough and brazen enough to stage a FAKE attempt on the President's life in the two weeks prior to election day. Wouldn't that qualify as an "October Surprise"? A PHONY attempt will immediately raise a sympathy vote for the President and that might be enough to win in the closely contested states. Besides, any PERCEIVED attempt on the President's life will relegate the Romney campaign to the back pages of newspapers and to only a momentary mention or two on the nightly news or cable news programs for days just prior to election day. Some unsympathetic figure (i.e. a Klansman, skinhead, militia member or even possibly a Muslim) could easily be fingered and  framed after a fabricated manhunt and be imprisoned for days before and after the election without a hearing. Mr. Obama is already tight with Hollywood moguls and major media such as CBS, New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, etc. They certainly wouldn't question the legitimacy of the FAKE attempt. Some of them may even abet it, at least with a cover-up.

You should probably replace "Muslim" with "Christian".

        1. profile image58
ThePeeDeeWildcatposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Pick your poison. I opted for "Muslim" because they might be easier to falsely accuse of a criminal act. There would be a xenophobic reaction against Islam around the country if people were convinced that a Muslim tried to kill the President.

So basically if there is a legitimate assassination attempt or threats the opposition can yell that it is faked for sympathy... Good one...

But, if the ploy were carried out with Hollywood precision, nobody would ever know that it was faked. Remember, my scenario is an ATTEMPTED assassination that is a ruse.

Yes, the government does have that kind of power. And, probably has used this RUSE in the past.

I would goes as far as to say it was the Government which Assassinated Kennedy, but as we all know, that's still speculation.
Any ruse with regards to assassination of any sort, would be done at Joint Chiefs level or higher. I'm even will to go out on a limb and say CIA doesn't follow it's own rules- staying out of USA. I'm willing to bet the CIA conducts it's own agenda, outside the scope of any authority, and they are allowed to call it National Security. I say BS.

The Christian community would probably applaud any Christian who attempted to take out the President. lol Forget Muslims. Don't need them to create fear in America.

People are already afraid the government. They know if they attempt to attack the Presidency or Congress, in any dominant form or forum, they(that person) are playing with their life.

There are very few who are truly willing to put their life on the line, when it comes going against the government. Innocent people have been killed by the government of America, for the stupidest reasons, all the while, keeping the public gullible to it's actions.

I don't agree with your first sentence. The overwhelming majority of Christians in America would hate for there to be an assassination attempt against the President. Also, read my scenario again. I placed Klansmen, skinheads and militia members ahead of Muslims. Muslims were almost an afterthought.

I didn't expect you to agree. lol
And you know this how exactly? You assume too much. How about the Christians who purposely find it okay to invade other people's life? Like those who kill doctors or bomb health clinics for pregnant women? These people claim being Christian and even follow their own warped interpretation of the bible to support their agenda of telling other people how to live.
Probably, but what difference does it really make. None. It makes absolutely NO difference who is blame. Just that someone is to be blamed. roll

And what am I assuming? The question happens to be what "Obama's October Surprise" might be. Many folks have assumed that Obama will come out in favor of legalizing pot. I don't think that simply because he already has the pot smoker vote locked up. He doesn't need to favor legalization. It wouldn't do him any good.

                  1. Cagsil profile image72
Cagsilposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I said you assumed too much when you are talking about knowing what other Christians might say, act or do, with regards to the assassination of the President.

Do try to comprehend things as you read them. It will do so much for context of a sentence.

As for the topic of the thread- Obama could do almost anything except for completely ripping apart the Constitution itself(physically doing it).

You're probably right that he doesn't need to favor legalization to get the vote. He has already made his position known for it.

A faked assassination attempt? Would be the most outlandish thought, but so crazy enough to work type deals. wink

    I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

I'm for the legalization of marijuana, but I think it's wrong for a POTUS to make that kind of move at the end of his term for re-election purposes.

If Obama wanted to legalize marijuana, he should have done it earlier.

    1. Mighty Mom profile image80

There are only so many radical social policies a POTUS can put through in 3 years.
Obama's covered all the other major food groups -- health care, education loans, immigration and of course gays in the miliary and marriage rights.
If he could devote full time to such issues he'd probably have done it already.
Unfortunately, there's this pesky bad economy to wrestle with.
And terrorists who must be dispensed with.
And a "one-term at any price" Congress who want to play chicken with our debt ceiling.

So if he doesn't quite get around to legalizing a medicinal plant with about 10,000 non-drug uses until October, can we really fault him?
      smile
Besides, all is fair in love, war and politics.

OH! and JSChams?  There is no doubt you have never touched pot in your entire life.  The very LAST thing pot could cause are homicidal tendencies....unless you can laugh, eat, talk, sleep, sing love songs and shoot someone at the same time.

Romney just needs to continue being himself:
