It all depends what you call 'old' Syrusv37?
I mean, a grumpy old man where i come from is usually a bitter twisted retiree who's fed up with his lot. The again, The Australian kids think their 40 something parents are 'old'.
So by 'elderly' do you actually mean over 60, 65+ perhaps? I see you're in your early 20's so just curious.
But whatever your definition of 'angry old men' the best way to deal with them is to give an overly polite and pleasant response to every snide remark they throw at you. And the nastier they are, the politer you become. Believe me, that'll soon soften them up ;-) Not that I'm an angry old 50 year old who's talking from experience you understand :)
