   You know all of the issues that surrounded your breaking up. If you can deal with it head on and provide a solution with really wanting to get back together then you must move forward leave the past behind both of you concerning your issues in the relationship and start over fresh with new insights and see each other with a new understanding and clarity how to move forward and enjoy your life together with each other in life. I wish the very best for the two of you to getting back together. It will take alot of working it out together but it will be worth it if the both of you go in it with 100 percent of your heart. Since he asked you why then the door is slightly opened for you to get back together with him. Go for it and apply wisdom in this situation.

   This is going to sound really harsh, but if you have to convince someone to date you, they are not worth your time.  The right person will want to be with you regardless of how many times you fight.  They will love you for who you are, and you will never have to spend your time defending yourself, your personality, and your feelings to them.
   You might think you're going to be able to fix everything that was wrong with your relationship with another attempt, but both people in the relationship have to be willing to put forth the effort to try to make things work.  If your ex is already asking for reasons to try again, his mind is clearly not in the right place to try to make things right.  Someday after you have both taken some time apart, the both of you might be in a place to start over and make things work.  In the mean time, look around and see what other guys in the world have to offer you in a relationship.  You never know, you might find someone who makes you question why you thought your ex was worth it in the first place.  I know I did

   Does he want you to say 'Because I love you and I believe we can make this work' or something like that? If he's looking for another reason I'd tell him that if his life is really so wonderful and so much better without you in it - then to stay on the path his on.
